Description of Ivy Hill Court
The Stevens-Bennett Home has an excellent reputation, having been in caring service of aged women for 139 continuous years. Originally charted by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in 1856 to provide support for indigent elderly women. The physical building was constructed and opened in 1876 as a home for aged women. Many of the original features still reflect that period of time, along with 21st century improvements and assets, such as a modern 7'x5' elevator, lovely open sitting parlor, and an improved kitchen and dining room.
