Independence Village of Rockford

I went to Independence Village of Rockford, and I was very impressed with them. The facility and the different apartments they had were very nice and good-sized. It looked like they had a lot of activities for the residents too, unfortunately, they can't go anywhere right now, but that seems to be lifting. Otherwise, if my mom was to ever decide moving into assisted living, then she would go to Independence Village of Rockford. The staff members that we met in the hall were very, very friendly, and we were very happy with them. The one that I spoke to was very informative, also very friendly, and worked several scenarios out with us. We talked with the nursing staff that they had on hand, and they were very, very helpful, and answered all the questions that we had. They had a hair salon that was still closed due to COVID. The facility looked very nice, and clean from the outside, and the grounds were very well kept up. My mom is still independent, but whether she needs assisted living or not, she doesn't have to move. She can stay right there, and they can provide help with more things as she needs them, which I thought was a plus. When it comes to the price, they are a lot less expensive than some of the others, so this was in our price range, but even still, it was very, very nice. I wouldn't hesitate to live there myself if I was inclined to do so.

We love Independence Village of Rockford. It was clean and very inviting. We really liked it. The staff members were very friendly and very informative. The food was very good. It wasn't like cafeteria food. You could tell they made it then and there. They have cards and games going on. They had some special guests there. It was Christmas time, and they were singing Christmas carols together. They had people playing pool. They had plenty going on.

I visited Independence Village and it was nice. The rooms were nice. It was like being in your own apartment, and they seemed to be spacious enough. They had things available for veterans, club-like gatherings, and other little groups that would get together. They go on fishing trips, and they have a puzzle room and a pool table. The food menu that they had posted for that day seemed to be appealing. It was countryside food. The staff member I dealt with was very nice and helpful. She was very in tune with different things like the VA and who to contact. The cost was nice, it was monthly, and it was reasonable. If you go there and move into independent living and you need more assistance, you don't have to move. You get to keep your same apartment.

Independence Village of Rockford was a great place. We thought it was very nice. We were going to move my mother there but it never came to fruition. First of all, it was affordable. The people that gave us the tour and that run the place itself, they were very nice and helpful. It seemed like a good place to be. They showed us around, they talked about the weekly cleaning service with linens and towels, and they have an on-call doctor available. They have lots of activities for people to do. It seemed more like a home than an apartment building or an institution. It seemed friendlier.

We went to Independence Village of Rockford, and it was very clean, and very nice. We went to look at studios, and a regular one, and they were very clean, well-kept, and very nice. However, the parking there was horrible, and it was difficult to park in handicapped parking. The staff was very accommodating, very nice, very helpful, and very informative.
