We just moved my sister out of Chateau de Boise. I loved it there, they had wonderful people, and they had all kinds of programs. She made friends quickly there, and the staff was wonderful. The facility was three stories tall, they had activities on each floor, TV rooms, and they had the main room and dining room on the first floor. They also had cottages where a couple could retire. Every floor had an exercise room. I had lunch with her often, and they welcomed everybody. They had a nice variety of food, they had home cooked meals, and you had more than one option for each meal. They had a nice sized library that was used often. She liked the activities there. They had bingo, horse racing, and arts and crafts. I liked the Chateau because it was affordable.

I looked at Arbor Village at Hillcrest, and I was impressed with their staff. They were very thorough, very accommodating, and explained they're going through a little bit of remodeling. It was clean, the residents were nice, and all the staff that I met was really nice. The chef gave me a dessert to take home, which was really good. It needs some updating and they're working on that, but they're definitely very liveable. They showed me a lot of the activities that were going on, and they had quite a bit off of the campus.

They were very accommodating and very good at Chateau de Boise. They had a great menu and a lot of food choices. It's an older facility, but it's well kept. The staff who showed us around was friendly and professional all the way. It was definitely homey and very clean. The thing I appreciated most was they were not pushy at all. They had a schedule of things that they went over with me, and they would take residents out sometimes even just for a drive. There was a gym down the street that had a pool, and they had lots of activities going on when I was there. Some groups were doing chair exercises and some were playing Pinnacle. There was a lot of participation.

Brookdale Boise Parkcenter was a very nice place and I was very impressed with it. It was like a resort, you walked in and there's a huge fireplace which was very nice. The staff was great. However, they didn't have a private room for my mother. They had a big activities room with bingo, they had in-room entertainment, it was like you can take puzzles and crosswords back to your room, and you can check them out like in a library. I saw some people walking around and just hanging out. They also had sections, they had a 2 story section which was kind of neat, and some of them had balconies.

I wasn't quite as impressed with Brookdale Boise Parkcenter. There was a bit even less staff around than the other places I visited. The apartments were nice and well taken care of. They have a good layout and a good space for the value. The dining area was nice, large, and open. I didn't see any other common areas other than a sitting room.
