I visited this facility

I drove my dad by Curtis Creek in Quincy, and I actually went in and kind of toured the facility. It's an amazing place, and they're very, very pleasant and very helpful. The place was very clean, organized, and very inviting. It looked like a place where you can live and call home. I just met with a staff, and we walked around a bit.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

We just moved my sister out of Chateau de Boise. I loved it there, they had wonderful people, and they had all kinds of programs. She made friends quickly there, and the staff was wonderful. The facility was three stories tall, they had activities on each floor, TV rooms, and they had the main room and dining room on the first floor. They also had cottages where a couple could retire. Every floor had an exercise room. I had lunch with her often, and they welcomed everybody. They had a nice variety of food, they had home cooked meals, and you had more than one option for each meal. They had a nice sized library that was used often. She liked the activities there. They had bingo, horse racing, and arts and crafts. I liked the Chateau because it was affordable.

I looked at Arbor Village at Hillcrest, and I was impressed with their staff. They were very thorough, very accommodating, and explained they're going through a little bit of remodeling. It was clean, the residents were nice, and all the staff that I met was really nice. The chef gave me a dessert to take home, which was really good. It needs some updating and they're working on that, but they're definitely very liveable. They showed me a lot of the activities that were going on, and they had quite a bit off of the campus.

They were very accommodating and very good at Chateau de Boise. They had a great menu and a lot of food choices. It's an older facility, but it's well kept. The staff who showed us around was friendly and professional all the way. It was definitely homey and very clean. The thing I appreciated most was they were not pushy at all. They had a schedule of things that they went over with me, and they would take residents out sometimes even just for a drive. There was a gym down the street that had a pool, and they had lots of activities going on when I was there. Some groups were doing chair exercises and some were playing Pinnacle. There was a lot of participation.

Veranda Senior Living at Paramount was a little bit farther away from me, and a little older. But it was very nice, we had a good feeling when we walked in, and there were a couple of residents playing the piano and singing. There was someone actually at the front desk who greeted us, he gave us a tour, he was great, and he was very helpful. They had studios which were sort of like a bedroom, with a little kitchenette, and a bathroom, but they also had one that had more of an apartment feel. I looked at a 1-bedroom. They had a calendar of events, they had a community room where they could watch movies, and they had a lovely dining room.
