It was wonderful, but my mother had to have more care. I loved it, and it felt more like an apartment. The dining room was beautiful, and the people were very nice. It had a nice vibe about it. The apartments were small, but everything was clean and looked new and nice, even though it wasn't too new. My mother needs more care because of her memory. The lady who runs it was wonderful, and she continues to do so. Everyone I met said hello and smiled.

I visited and it was a very clean place, the staff is nice, and they want to help you anyway they can. The rooms were a bit tiny, but adequate for us, the dining room was beautiful, and they had linen over the tables. You can order anything you want, we did have lunch, and it was delicious. They have an activities director, and they have a bus that takes them to Walmart, banks, or whatever. It had more to offer than any other place we looked at.

My friend was in here for a while. Her room seemed spacious, and it was definitely clean. There were places for people to sit on. She was pretty well satisfied with the place.

My Mom tried this place for a few months and decided to leave. There were several reasons behind her decision. First, it took forever to get even the most basic issues repaired in her apartment. The food was okay when she first got there but quickly dropped in quality as the weeks passed. The staff could be unhelpful to downright rude. I experienced this myself sometimes when I can to visit. They market themselves as independent living but it's clear many of the residents need full-time care. Iris Place plainly cares more about revenue than residents. The constant cost-cutting and shortcuts are visible everywhere.

My parents signed a lease for three months on a trial basis. After they moved in, no one really helped them adjust and no one visited. Several maintenance things that we're suppose to be taken care of were ignored. My dad was given a hard time about wearing his Pearl Harbor hat inside the building, a hat that he wears everywhere he goes. This was only a week after he got there and when I tried to talk to the staff about this, I was told he needed to "put on his big boy pants and grow up". When grandchildren came to eat in the dining hall, they were treated as a nuisance and we were made to not feel welcome. When I tried to talk to the staff about concerns, I was treated very rudely. My parents have left after three months. They hated it there. We are very disappointed that Iris Place did not do more to make them feel welcome.
