Forwood Manor offers respite care. The facility was nice. They had really friendly and nice staff. The nurse and the director are really nice folks. It's beautiful out there and they have different levels of care for the patients. They have independent living people, an area for people who need a little care, respite care, and an area for people who need a nurse. They had a Thursday night jazz for the people to participate, and they offer games for them. They also have exercise at different times of the day and they have an area where they can lounge in.
Forwood Manor was probably the absolute best place we saw. It's a very well-kept place and it's in a nice setting. Everything else about it seemed great. The rooms were fine, and there were no problems with the amenities that we saw. It used to be a junior high school. It looks nice and has very pleasant surroundings.
Forwood Manor was well run and clean. It was a good facility. The lunch we had was good. We met a lot of people who all seemed happy. We were looking at one-bedrooms. They had amenities, like libraries, a little exercise room, and a common area.
Forwood Manor was very nice, the staff seemed to be quite pleasant, but the people seemed to be standoffish, they weren't as friendly as some of the other places, and I didn't get a real warm-and-fuzzy feeling there. The facilities were nice, the rooms were a nice size, the layout was a little odd, and would take a while to get used to. We tried the food, it was very good, but it was very expensive.
