We visited State Street Assisted Living. I'm hoping to know in the next day or two whether my parents were accepted. It's very nice, very welcoming and cheerful, and the staff was very nice. They seemed to treat their residents very nice. The dining area was very nice. I did eat lunch there and the food was excellent. ...Read more State Street Assisted Living reviews
My visit with State Street was wonderful. Everybody was very nice and very friendly. They had a beautiful dining facility. The community was very nice, but the room wasn't. I'm claustrophobic and I couldn't imagine sleeping in the area they had for a bedroom. I don't know that a queen size bed would've fit in there and...Read more State Street Assisted Living reviews

The Cost of Assisted Living in Surrounding Areas
The cost of senior care varies depending on location and type of care. In Kent County, skilled nursing care in a semiprivate room is more than double the price of all other types of care, including assisted living. In-home care, such as home health aides and homemaker services, is moderately less expensive than assisted living. Residential care facilities typically include expenses such as utilities, property taxes and maintenance in their room-and-board fees, while in-home care does not. These factors should be considered when deciding on the best type of care for a senior’s unique situation.
