Description of Summit Glen Gracious Retirement Living
Summit Glen offers gracious retirement living for seniors seeking an independent, active lifestyle. Residents live in studio, one- or two-bedroom apartments equipped with emergency pull cords. Management teams live on-site, so they are always available to answer questions or respond to emergencies.
Chefs prepare delectable, made-from-scratch meals three times a day, which residents enjoy restaurant-style. Activities programs, designed based on resident input, may include discussion groups, creative arts and writing programs and group outings to museums, concerts or theater performances. The community's comfortable bus offers safe transport for seniors attending off-site appointments, shopping excursions or events.
With its location in Colorado Springs, CO, Summit Glen is close to a number of stores, restaurants and parks. Garden of the Gods Park is nearby, offering hiking, birdwatching, biking and horseback riding in a spectacular setting. More adventurous souls may visit Pike's Peak or go whitewater rafting in Royal Gorge.

My mother has been living at Summit Glen for over 2 years after an extensive search of independent residences in the Colorado Springs area. There really is no better value for a comparable facility in this area. Summit Glen is clean and well-managed by friendly, caring, considerate, well-trained staff in all areas. Everyone takes the time to make the second effort to assure a healthy and rewarding experience for the resident and their families.I feel secure that my mother is in a safe environment at a very reasonable price. This residence has recently achieved 4 straight years of 100% full occupancy. That, in itself says more than words can express. Thank-you Alan and Natalie and your wonderful staff. JFA

My father was in Summit Glen. I still go there every Monday to do ceramics with the seniors that live there. It was great there though he could only afford to have a small studio apartment. They have bingo, games, movies in the TV room, they have little senior cooking classes, and during Christmastime they have a contest and people get to vote on who decorated their door the best. They do all sorts of fun things. They do doctors' appointments, but you have to make your appointment on Tuesdays and Thursdays because Fridays they have Wal-Mart trip and King Soopers trip and trips to the department stores. They have a free washer and dryer and the maid service comes once a week and they clean the apartment. The staff was great and they still ask about him. They had the same housekeeper for the entire time he was there. They had good meals. I'm still going over there and eating there on Mondays. It was one of the most affordable places out here.
