The best way to get to know a community is by scheduling a tour. See the facilities, meet the staff and residents, and get a feel first hand what it's like to live at Brookdale Northridge Assisted Living.
Brookdale Northridge had a friendly atmosphere and a lot of space in the lobby. The dining room was right there. The rooms were too small for us that it really wouldn't do. They can improve on the size of the rooms because I wouldn't want to spend my time in a room like that. The person who sat down with us was a dietician who had worked there for a long time.
We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback with us from your visit. We have passed your feedback along to our local and regional management teams for review.
Brookdale Northridge was a nice facility. The people were friendly, but of course they're trying to sell you, so they're going to be friendly. They had a good promotion going on where they give you a substantial discount on the rent and waive the $3,000 fee. It's about $2,400 for a small studio, then they want $500 a month for medications, and if you want to bring a pet, that's a flat fee of $265. If you wanted somebody to help with hygiene, coming in two times a week, was still like $102 a month, and if you wanted someone to come three times a week and actually help out with cleaning or washing themselves, that was $205 a month. It was nice, but they're set up primarily for independent living. If you need assisted care, then you better start planning to pay out the nose. If you need anything else, those fees add up fast.
Brookdale Northridge was full and didn’t seem to be excited for us, so my impression was they didn’t need us. The rooms were really nice, and it’s in a really nice, quiet neighborhood where my folks could take walks, so that’s why we liked it. It was really close to where I live, but they didn’t have a place for my parents. We had a nice lunch there. They have skilled nursing as well, which was nice.
