Financial Assistance for Assisted Living in Moreno Valley

State Supplemental Payment 
 
In California, seniors who receive the federal&nbsp;<a href="https://ca.db101.org/ca/programs/income_support/ssi/faqs.htm#_q339" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Supplemental Security Income</a> benefit may be eligible to receive additional cash benefits under the State Supplemental Payment program. This benefit was created to provide seniors and disabled individuals who receive long-term care with additional funding for costs that aren&rsquo;t covered by Medicaid, such as room and board expenses. Payments are calculated based on the applicant&rsquo;s living situation and income. The maximum benefit is $160.72 (individual) or $407.14 (couple) per month.&nbsp;

Elderlife&nbsp;Bridge Loan 
 
Seniors who are unable to receive financial assistance from Medicaid or other state programs may be able to receive temporary&nbsp;funding assistance via&nbsp;an&nbsp;<a href="https://elderlifefinancial.com/loc/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Elderlife Financial Services</a>&nbsp;bridge loan. Those who qualify can have their funds issued directly to their place of residence and are required to repay their loan in monthly installments. Elderlife bridge loans offer low interest rates and typically have a quick&nbsp;approval process.&nbsp;

Under the standard state plan, seniors are also eligible to receive coverage for the cost of care while living in a nursing care facility, provided they submit to a full assessment and are determined to require a nursing level of care. To qualify for the state Medi-Cal program, or any waiver programs, seniors must be 65 years of age or older and determined to require long-term care after receiving a full care assessment. Financial requirements for Medi-Cal stipulate that applicants may not have an income higher than $1,242 per month when applying as an individual, while married applicants may not have an income higher than $1,682 per month. Asset limitations are $2,000 for individuals and $3,000 for couples, and they exclude the applicant&rsquo;s home, household furnishings and personal belongings.&nbsp;

Assisted Living Waiver 
 
For low-income seniors who are Medi-Cal eligible and reside in assisted living facilities, the&nbsp;<a href="https://www.dhcs.ca.gov/services/ltc/Pages/AssistedLivingWaiver.aspx" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Assisted Living Waiver</a> exists to provide financial assistance with the cost of care. Additional services may be covered under this waiver depending on the senior&rsquo;s specific needs, including necessary medical equipment and transportation services. The cost of room and board is not covered by Medi-Cal.&nbsp;

This program only accepts 12,000 participants at one time, which often results in a lengthy waiting list. As a result, seniors are often reassessed annually.&nbsp;

Our van transports residents to medical appointments three days a week. Housekeeping and Laundry:

Housekeeping staff clean the apartments once a week and do a deep-cleaning every 6 months, which includes a carpet shampoo. There are laundry machines on every floor for residents to use on their own, or we can take care of it. Just let us know what you would prefer!

Salon:

Our licensed cosmetologist runs a full-service salon. She is around most afternoons for a trim, a cut or a color. She can also do other services, like nails or make-up, upon request.
