This nursing home felt like a modern-day East Berlin. Although no physical barrier existed, the persistent pressure to remain and the obstacles placed in the way of discharge created the impression of an invisible wall designed to keep residents inside and prevent them from leaving.

I would not recommend this facility. The nurses, social worker, and administrator repeatedly insisted my grandfather needed to stay because his condition was “too serious,” yet he did not return home in better condition after his stays. I was treated very unfairly. At one point, I was asked to leave and prevented from visiting my grandfather, as if they had the authority to decide who gets to visit him. On two separate occasions, I was not allowed to take him home—once despite having General Power of Attorney, and another time even after his doctor had discharged him and I was told I could pick him up. The lack of respect, communication, and transparency was extremely frustrating. Based on our experience, I would not trust this facility with a loved one.

My grandma was her for a couple years. I would try to visit once a week. They staff was always nice and I got a since they truly loved my grandma almost as much as me. Sometimes when I was there they would have a guitarist singing or pets. Gotta say, it was the first time I held a chinchilla. I didn't know they were so soft! Ivonne and her staff were always there when we needed them. Highly recommend this place, so much more attention than a big facility!

Absolutely horrible my mom got randomly transferred there & tossed into area between 2 curtains with no TV no wifi she couldn't get help with her snacks or her coloring books. She's completely disabled and mental. Then the food admin gave her chop up food menu when not needed. Then they took her on 5150 hold because she was refusing some of her meds. She's only been there less then a week. She's in so much pain just trying to move her at all Or change her. So transport her again is nuts! She's just had deal with over 2 hours doing that few days before. Facility hasn't even called me to ask questions about much or dietary or have her records. Very dissatisfied they also have covid going through there now and no visitors inside.

Moving to The Terraces was the best decision I could ever make for my dad with his Alzheimer's disease. The staff are kind, empathetic, caring, attentive, responsive, helpful, thoughtful, actively involved daily with the residence, supportive, and innovative in their approach to daily activities and living with memory care issues. Elizabeth is fantastic and runs the activities. She keeps them engaged & busy, and gets to know each residents likes and hobbies to incorporate things into her programs. It's a great comfort to the families knowing that they are with a staff who are experts in dealing with memory care issues. The doctor was going to increase my dad's medication because of behavioral issues at his prior memory care community. Once he moved to The Terraces, we realized it didn't need to be changed, he just needed to be more engaged and active. He's doing amazing and far better than when he got there.
