Description of Sun City West
Sun City West Assisted Living is a home away from home for seniors needing some help with daily living tasks. Nurses and other caregivers are on hand around-the-clock to monitor residents' health status, manage medications and assist seniors with bathing, dining, dressing and ambulation.
This community implements the Connection Memory Care Program for residents with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia. Run by a specialized team, this holistic program incorporates a Mediterranean diet, the SingFit music program and an engaging, supportive environment tailored to each person's needs.
Residents live in spacious studios or one-bedroom apartments and enjoy meals in the full-service dining room. They can keep in shape by working out in the fitness room, have their hair cut and styled in the beauty/barbershop or choose a book from the on-site library. They may also wish to travel off-site to explore the nearby shops and restaurants.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident
My mother is in Brookdale Sun City West Sandridge now. She is in the section that is closed off from all the other residents, and she does get out for social things, but otherwise she is pretty much locked in. They've got chefs that develop their food and all their sauces, and it is very good. I've had a couple of meals there, which are just unbelievable. The staff is like family. All the upper level staff have been there for years. They greet everybody by first name, and they know everybody there. It's a big building with 3 stories and 2 wings -- a wing on each side of the lobby type area. They do a great job taking care of the people there. They do a lot of things, and every week they've got somebody coming in to entertain them. During Christmas, they bring people in constantly and do music programs for them, they do slide shows for travel, and they do things to make it worthwhile for the people to spend time there.
