Prescott has twice served as the capital of the Arizona territory, in 1864, replacing Fort Whipple and again in 1877, replacing Tucson before eventually being replaced by Phoenix in 1889. They also provide service through outposts in Anthem, Flagstaff, Cottonwood, Kingman, and Lake Havasu City. Transportation

The Prescott transit authority is the primary transit option within the city. They do not have a traditional public transportation system, but this company offers rides with the Prescott Citibus for just one dollar. This bus runs from 9 am to 5 pm on weekdays and you can purchase an all-day ticket for $3.00. It also offers airport shuttles, taxi service, limo rentals and charter buses.
