Fairwinds - Desert Point has Phase 1, which was the original and Phase 2 which has new rooms, and there's quite a bit of difference between the two. The staff is very nice, friendly, and helpful. The place was immaculate, and they had a lot of activities going on in the fitness center which had no extra charge, so you're able to go in and take advantage of the exercise.

We moved into Fairwinds. They have both assisted living and independent care. I think it's a very good place to be. I'm glad I'm here. The people are friendly, the staff is wonderful, and the food is really good. I think it's a good place. They have nice apartments. The one I'm staying in is a bigger one, but I'm going into a smaller one because my husband is gone. They have everything from studio up to two-bedroom with a den. Everything is maintained well. They seem to care about you here. The caregivers are wonderful and treat you like good friends. It's not cheap, but you get a lot, too. You don't have to pay utilities except for your telephone, and you don't have to pay taxes. There are a lot of things you don't have to pay.
