My mother is moving into Merrill Gardens at Madison. I like the people there quite a lot and the food is great. It also has nice interiors. The food was the best I had from any facility in the area. The managers seem OK and don't seem so money oriented. It's kind of located on the highway. She has a room with a huge balcony, it's quiet in the back there, and it overlooks some houses, and I was happy with that. They're very helpful. I went there unannounced and they immediately showed me around and I didn't expect to get that kind of service. Everything is very good there.

My mother is in Merrill Gardens at Madison, and it's an absolutely beautiful place. The staff is very good, clean her room once a week, and check on them to make sure they go to bed on time. The residents push a button to indicate that they're fine before they go to bed and do it again when they wake up. They have a beautiful dining room and do all kinds of activities, like make welcome baskets for the new people who come in. It's the first time I heard my mom say she loved anything, especially food-wise. They have shuttles to take you to the church or to the doctors', and they're constantly busy with the people there.

My mom will be moving from the assisted living to the memory care portion of Merrill Gardens. It's a very bright and sunny place. They have an excellent patient to nurse ratio. They are very happy, and there's a low turnover. The grounds are beautiful, and it's really convenient to me. All the rooms in memory care are studios that are pretty spacious, clean, and well-maintained. They are actually $1,000 less than the others per month, and it's the most reasonably priced.
