My visit to The Gardens of Virginia Beach was very good. I was very impressed by the place. It's not new, but it's very nice. I have two friends there who are very happy. The food is excellent. They have studios and some 1-bedrooms. They have bingo, volunteer musicians, and the day is full of activity. Last week they had a luau there and it was really nice. They have cards and books. A bus takes them shopping too.

The Gardens of Virginia Beach was the best of them all. The atmosphere was real upbeat, the people that were there were socializing more than the other places I visited. When I asked them how they like living there, they were all very happy. The staff was nice and good. When you walk in there's an open feeling, like a living room area with a TV. People were sitting on the couch and watching. They also have a jukebox that plays old songs, and you don't need to put money in it; the people can just go up and pick songs. It was very nice, and they also have an exercise room.

The people at The Gardens of Virginia Beach were down to earth. I liked the rooms. It didn't feel too much like a fancy place. You can eat the meals anytime you want, which would be good for my sister. You don't have to go at a prescribed time. I saw an activity board, they had shopping tours, and they had a hair salon, and a water dispenser on every floor. I liked her room because it wouldn't be facing the street or anything. If she wants to go out on her own and get herself to eat or browse around, she can just cross the street. Everybody was very nice. They had a seat in the elevator. The Gardens seemed like the best place for her. They had trivia, You Be the Judge, stories brought to life, bible study, and outings. When you walk in, there are people sitting all around.

The rooms and closet space at The Gardens of Virginia Beach were small. The staff was very nice. When I was there, some residents were coming back from doing shopping and some were in a reading activity outside. They had a beauty salon. I didn't like their bathrooms because they're not big. Some residents were out on the porch and some were out in the backyard. It was a really nice place.

Since my mother doesn't speak English, The Gardens was my second option. They have a staff who speaks Greek, that's why I almost put my mother there. I felt she would be more comfortable there because there is a nurse she could talk with. The people that I met were very nice. However, the room was just a room with a bathroom.

My sister is at the Gardens of Virginia Beach and she's been there for two months now. It's a nice place, it's got everything, it seems very orderly, and the food is good. The assistance has been very helpful and the medical staff is doing great, very helpful, and she's getting physical therapy too. She's got a nice room that we furnished and it seemed clean and orderly. It's a little more expensive than we'd like though.

The Gardens was very nice, clean, and the people are congenial. It was a very small community and there were a lot of activities.
