Description of Madison House
There’s nothing more important than family. From the modest nursing home in 1958 where founders Emmet and Alice Koelsch began, up to today, it’s our family philosophy fueling our commitment to residents and staff every day. We are dedicated to providing compassion and kindness to our residents and fellow employees. Our mission is to enrich the lives of those who live and work with us by responding to their unique needs and universal desire for dignity and respect. We are mindful that each resident comes to us with an individual set of needs. For some, those needs are as simple as companionship, a social atmosphere or a few kind words throughout the day. For others, it’s assistance with the basics of daily living such as housekeeping, laundry and the like. Still others require more dedicated care including therapy services, medication management and specialized individual care.
Our trained and tenured staff is here to serve the many differing needs of our residents, promoting creative thinking and learning, with patience, kindness and, above all, compassion. The later years of life can bring many joys and many challenges. We are committed to making these precious years fulfilling and enjoyable. And we will do this through our founding principles of excellent care and service.

Madison House is a great facility for both independent and assisted living. One of the great benefits of Madison House is the convenient location, right across the street from healthcare facilities including Evergreen Hospital Medical Center, which is my resident’s health care provider. The lady who gave us a guided tour answered all our questions. They were going through a renovation, and there are many upgrades being made, she said 3.5 million was being put into the facility. The apartments we toured were nice and clean and good sized they provided a brochure with floor plans from studios to two bedrooms. The restaurant was filled with residents; it was lunch time. Although we didn’t eat, we met with someone who works in the restaurant he went over the menu options with us and the menu was decent. We did tour the fitness area and pool area; There was three residents utilizing the pool area, it was a tad messy, a little cleaning up would of been nice to see. The outside area includes a garden and walking paths; they were nice and level ground for safe walking. It was explained that they have many activities to keep residents busy we did tour the billiard room and beauty salon there were no residents using them, but the area itself was lovely. We did see some ladies reading, seemed they had formed a book club, and they were enjoying themselves. We were also introduced to several staff members all who answered questions and were very friendly, upon asking many have been at Madison House for a long time, so it seems there is not a high turnover of staff. We met with the nursing and care staff, and they again explained that there are nurses available 24 hours a day and room checks are performed at least twice daily. I saw nothing, but kind, caring staff committed to providing respect and excellent service the residents. The cost is also comparable to other facilities in the area and after seeing the facility and meeting the great staff along with the location I can say Madison House is an excellent option for your loved one.
