For more than a year, I’ve been blogging about getting myself, my kitty, Mia, and my belongings to a senior living community in Southern California. Easy, right? Not if you want your belongings to arrive unharmed and in working condition–which brings us to the subject of packing, moving and shipping.
Why is moving items from Point “A” to Point “B” a big deal? Because there are moving boxes and then there are shipping boxes. Importantly, in order to use the correct boxes, you need to know if your items will be moved or shipped. There is a difference. Who knew?
To learn these subtle differences, I checked multiple sources. Join me in the next Joan’s Journey for “Introduction to Moving 101.” I’ll share what I’ve learned about packing, moving and shipping items safely from points “A”to “B,” with potential modifications along the way. We’ll explore the differences and options of moving companies vs. shipping companies vs. the US Postal Service. We’ll define moving boxes vs. shipping boxes and share resources to learn more.
Regarding the sale of my condo, I guess no news is good news. I’m still waiting for an answer to my settlement offer. Senior living remains elusive.
Please share your packing and moving experiences with us in the comment box below. Seniorhomes.com and I would love to hear from you.
Until the next Joan’s Journey, enjoy the trip, day by day.
