I visited this facility

Greenfield of Stafford was very spacious. The people were very friendly, and it's outside of Northern Virginia, so it's in a much more rural place. They were above and beyond the call of duty to be helpful and accommodating. The staff was open to any questions, took me on the tour, introduced me to residents, and showed me different rooms. Everybody was raving about how good the food was.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

FEB 2019 Moved my elderly relative into Greenfield of Stafford (They have various ones in the area) at the beginning of JAN2019. When I initially looked at it, I went to it unannounced and received a tour, etc. It is a clean, fresh smelling facility. In other words it doesn\'t smell of urine or \"old people\". You can either have individual rooms or shared rooms; individual rooms costing more. From your base cost (being the type of room, individual or shared), the additional cost is the level of care that will need to be provided. It is a 2 level facility, the top floor being for the memory loss. There is a security elevator so people can not wonder off. Cable TV is included (basic Comcast cable), phone line is at individual cost if they want a phone in their room. Staff is attentive and friendly from what I can concern; my relative and other residents I have befriended have told me they are treated well and not mistreated in anyway. I have asked staff members if Greenfield treats them right as employees and have gotten the same responses. They have a monthly calendar of events posted and distributed to all. Security for elderly that might wander off or go outside alone and are prohibited from doing so works as well. I experience seeing an elder resident trying to go outside, and the doors immediately locked and no one could get out? We were not aware at the time why we could not get out... A staff members came and took the resident away from the door, and the doors then unlocked for us. They have some type of security that prevented her from opening the door. It was comforting to see that that type of security was in place, had my relative needed it. All and all this facility as of FEB2019 is excellent and I have nothing negative to say. I will revisit the review if I see something I am not satisfied with. One thing about the heat, the heating systems in the rooms then to run very HOT. Even with an adjustment down. We found the sweet spot but the rooms tend to be very warm.

I was very disappointed with Greenfield of Stafford. I got a lot of red flags when I was there, one being that their director told me that it was his last day there. I had an appointment to visit the facility, but the director of sales had an appointment with somebody else, so they had me go around with the activities director instead, which I wasn't very impressed with. Instead of telling me what activities they were doing and what the day to day routine would be for the residents, she more or less was just telling me, "Oh I love this one, I love this resident, I love that resident," and I was not very impressed. The place had a urine odor, which was noticeable when you walked in. I asked the director of sales how many nurses there were and he didn't know. That was my another red flag.

My wife moved into assisted living at Greenfield of Stafford. The staff is happy. They talk to you, smile, and treat you almost like a dignitary. The residents are mostly smiling. The place is bright and clean inside and neat and well-kept outside. My wife is getting occupational and physical therapy. They have trips to the market several times month and have bands or performers come in who play instruments or play songs. They have a TV/game room area which is a nice place where the residents could talk to each other and perform activities. They have a walking club and exercise club. The food is nice, well-prepared, tasty and well-cooked.

I visited this facility

Greenfield of Stafford was a nice facility and it's being rehabbed at the moment. They're putting in a lot of new stuff, which makes it even nicer. The people working there that I met were all super nice. They do a lot for the people in there, from the dementia residents to the assisted living residents. They try to keep them occupied and busy. They play games and they take them out if they're mobile enough. They have a place where they can sit outside. The rooms were spacious. The staff was very friendly and very accommodating. They serve three meals and snacks are available at any time. It's very clean.

I visited this facility

Greenfield of Stafford's rooms were very nice. They had a host of activities every day. The dining area was not great, but not bad, just average and unremarkable. The food was average and institutional. The staff seemed exceptionally good.

I visited this facility

Greenfield had a very nice receptionist who gave me a tour. Everyone was nice. They were undergoing renovations. They have a library, and a hairdresser. The hallway was very narrow and not many residents were engaged in activities.
