Lakeshore Estates is very nice and clean. It has a very nice atmosphere. I enjoyed the visit. The lady encouraged us, and it was very nice. The way they presented themselves to the way they welcomed you there. They don't talk you into anything like some places do. I saw their calendar of activities and their small kitchenette where residents can cook if they want to. However, we went after 2 p.m., so I didn't see anybody doing anything at that time. If it comes down to it, Lakeshore Estates would be the place I would choose.
My mom moved into Lakeshore Estates. She's very pleased with her apartment and she's very satisfied with her three meals a day. They have all kinds of recreation like volleyball and people coming in singing.
Lakeshore Estates was a nice place, but it wasn't really a good fit for us. They're an independent place and we had to upgrade to make it assisted living. They had some features that were very nice. They had the best lanyard of anybody I've come across. It had GPS and everything. It was an older building and the rooms had some interesting layouts. They had one elevator and it was broken for over three weeks.
I like the physical layout of Lakeshore Estates and the color schemes. I have a lot of friends there. It's kind of upbeat for a retirement center. They have a lot of activities and they seem to have enthusiastic staff. We had a meal there and the food was excellent. The dining area is a typical dining area.
Very pretty facility. Residents seem very happy, and a little spoiled, as they should be. I have not been is the private apartments, nor have I eaten the food. The build appears clean. I have not experienced the quality of care. The residents are clean and well groomed. However, personal care is not offered by the facility so residents in need of personal care must hire/private pay for that assistance. The dining is presented very formal and classy. It is very appealing and I would like to eat at a restaurant like that. I have visited with the enthusiastic admissions/marketing coordinator, activities person and some of the managers. They seem to have their residents best interest a heart, tho sometimes they are hard to find or not interested, or too busy to talk? The activities person seems a little stressed, but really tries to find things that are interesting to the residents and tries to please them. The managers are hard to pry away from their desk and do not greet guest as they come through the door. I have never walked in and felt as if they were really glad to see me, and I have walked around looking for someone to talk to.
