Located in the beautiful Stone Oak area, one of San Antonio's premier neighborhoods, The Haven & The Laurels in Stone Oak provides a combination of assisted living and memory care to seniors in Central Texas. Residents may choose their accommodations from an array of custom-designed studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments. Each home comes with a private bathroom that includes a step-in shower, individually controlled heating and air, and a wireless call system for emergencies.
A full schedule of daily social activities is also available, and our Activity Director ensures that residents have access to frequent outings to places such as local shopping centers and other places of interest. I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident
My mother-in-law is in the Haven & the Laurels in Stone Oak. It's very nice. The staff is nice, fine, and professional. They hved a variety of apartments, and she has a one-bedroom. They have everything from games to exercise classes, and they even have days where they can get a manicure. They have a bridge club, dominos, and they have transportation (like you can go on scenic rides), and they have movie nights. It's one of the nicest properties I've seen, they have a lot to offer, but she did not get involved very much. When you walk in they have two family rooms, one to the left with a television, and one to the right where they do puzzles, and they have bible study upstairs. They have a great, big room for which is their game room.

I visited this facility
I looked at The Haven & The Laurels in Stone Oak for my mom. It was a nice place, and the only complaint I have is that the rooms were small. They had a little bit of everything. They had a theater, a nice eatery or dining area, they have facilities to get your hair done and things like that. So everything was cool except for the room size which is important to us because my mom pretty much spends the majority of her time in her room.

I visited this facility
I liked The Laurels and the Havens the best. I was actually going to put my aunt in that facility up until we had a family emergency. It was the best fit for her, it had a great community feel, everybody was so nice, and I thought it would work the best for her. They have really good activities, they actually have some outings that my aunt would have found very enticing, and they keep the residents entertained. They have bingo, a quilt club, they do arts and crafts, and they were going to the Pearl for lunch. They have shopping.

I visited this facility
My impression of The Laurels & The Haven in Stone Oak was horrible and I didn't like it. The manager was really nice, but she was going through treatments. I would suggest they let her go home and finish her treatment, then put somebody in who's more pleasant with the guests and gives interesting tours. I had lunch there, but the pasta I had was cold, so it stuck together. I was very disappointed with my visit. I wouldn't like to live there.
