My Mother has only been a resident at Franklin Park Stone Oak for one month. We struggled with the decision of moving her to a senior community and wondered would she be happy. When taking a tour of the Stone Oak everything was so beautiful. The staff was very positive and friendly. We were also invited to stay for lunch. We could not believe how great the food was and the selection offered. The other residents seemed so happy and at Home. Well, it has been a month now and we cannot believe how much our Mother has thrived at Stone Oak. She has many new friends, she loves all the staff and she goes out on weekly outings. Her life is so fulfilled and we are so Happy!!
I was asked by a close friend to help find an assisted living facility for their parent. I didn’t want my efforts to be wasted so thought I would share my review. Being the type who does lots of research before making a commitment on any purchase, let alone something as important as this, I did mine. I talked with folks who shared their perspective and other research methods, including online. I am in my mid 60’s myself, so feel like I am little more empathetic than a younger person may be. The facility is beautiful and you are struck with the quality of the facility from the second you walk in. The rooms are very well thought out and homey. The resident’s rooms have emergency call systems in place, showers you can roll into and a homey nice layout. I think some of the rooms even have a little kitchenette. Of course they offer standard housekeeping and laundry services. The kitchen is an area residents normally wouldn’t be in, but no expense seemed to be spared there with everything being stainless steel, amazing stoves, ovens and freezers. The facility even has a private movies theater, library, a small chapel, spa etc. Frankly, no matter how nice the facility may be, the people running it are most important component to trust a loved one with. Observing the interaction of the staff with the residents, I got a sense of sincerity, friendliness and caring. I have always felt it takes special people to be care givers to the elderly and treat them with the kindness and respect they deserve. I was assured by senior management that they understood that their staff is the single most important element and that they are constantly educating, monitoring, reviewing and hiring the best they can in this area. If the staff is first class, then simple logic dictates that the quality of care has to be there. Again my observations and answers to my questions gave me comfort that the quality of care is mirrored with the quality of the staff, which I thought were impressive. Though I did not eat there, I was able to tour the first class kitchen, which is larger than most restaurants and by far nicer. I was shown freshly prepared foods and how clean and sanitary the whole kitchen is. I forgot to mention the cozy dining areas which i liked. I was told by the two I talked to that food was typically very good, with different daily offerings. Well this review is longer than I expected, but having visited other assisted living, this is only one so far that I gave five stars to and recommended to my friend. I hope it was helpful and I will update it should anything change, positive or negative.
My Dad was there three weeks and fell three times; no one called me or the Doctor attending him. He can't walk well but they let him wonder around unsupervised. We are dissapointed with their "Platinum" care for the extra $850 per month; we had to supply everything, even the shower curtain. For $5300 per month this is such a poor value; I wish we had never taken him there. We moved him out today.

I I was very impressed when I had the opportunity to visit this community. They really seem to have their act together and the residents are very happy. Other communities should take a page from Franklin Park's "book"
