Parkwood Meadows was quite nice. The apartments seemed reasonable. They're well lit, clean and nice. Amenities seemed to be well organized and nice as well.
Our experience with Parkwood Meadows has been very good. I like everything. Everybody seems real nice and so far, the food is good, the service is good, they take care of everything, and Mom does a lot of things on her own. It's a retirement thing and not really assisted living. The staff has been very good, very knowledgeable, they know what to do, and everything seems to run smoothly. There's always something different going on every day. They offer three meals a day and a snack. They have a laundry area. You wash your own clothes, but they take care of the linens and the towels. The facility is very nice.
I was very impressed with Parkwood Meadows. They have upscale apartment living. I was very surprised because it was not one large room. Instead, the bedroom was divided from the living room. They had activities posted. The dining area was more of a home setting instead of a cafeteria. They brought a menu around and let people pick out what they wanted to eat and served it to them. Those people were all volunteers who were very friendly and helpful. There wasn't anything I wasn't happy about.
I visited Parkwood Meadows, and everything was real nice, but it was too expensive. They have a nice restaurant and a library. They have nice grounds and an activities area.
I liked Parkwood Meadows. It was very different from the other two communities I visited. It was more like cottages and had a more homey effect. I liked the layout and how it looked. You could park your car right in front of where you live. The person who accommodated me was personable and nice. She was a substitute but she was very good, very knowledgeable, and had been in the community for a while. They had a place where they went for activities in the afternoon, plus scrapbooking, theaters, and activities that the residents could participate in the evening. The room wasn't as large as others, but it was nice and had more of a cozy feeling.
I visited Parkwood Meadows. They have shopping days for the residents, they go off to local restaurants for lunch, and there's also a Bridge club for and things like that. They also have a nice dining room, a theater, chapel, and exercise room; they have everything. The food was excellent and I met the chef when I went to the dining room. It was nice. They also have a couple of things to choose from. You're not just limited to one meal. The staff was nice and pleasant, but they're just not quite as open and friendly as the staff in the other community we visited.
We visited Parkwood Meadows and I liked the atmosphere and the elegance of the place. You're pretty much on your own, they clean twice a week, and they have people come in and do the linens. They drive people to the doctor, and they showed us a 2-bedroom. They have all kinds of different games in the community area, and they were all friendly.
My mother is moving into Parkwood Meadows. Her apartment is larger for a lower price than any other place that we found. It's the most affordable. I was with the helpful staff several times for tours, and we had lunch there. The location is in an extremely congested area by 620 and the Chisholm Trail, so it's not ideal. They have cards, games, chair volleyball, and music for people to listen to.
Parkwood Meadows was clean, and the staff was knowledgeable and helpful. The apartments were clean and pretty nice. The residents were happy, busy, and interacting with each other.
My dad moved in about 4 months ago. He was pretty much a loner after losing my mom 5+ years ago. He didn't realize how lonely he was until he moved to Parkwood Meadows. He is very active socially. He enjoys the food quality and selection. He has even met a lady friend! My dad has gone on several outings and regularly gets involved in the daily activities. He is so happy there and we are so relieved. I can relax more knowing that he's not alone. There are people his age to hang out with and above all, there is staff always available if he needs assistance. Thank you Parkwood Meadows for making this such a welcoming and smooth transition for my dad and his dog.
My mother and brother will be moving into Parkwood Meadows next week. This was the first of four facilities I toured. I felt at home right away and set up a tour and lunch for my mother and brother. My mother was so impressed with the facility and friendly staff, she signed a lease right then and there. Mom did not even want to view any other places. The lunch was good, food tasty with numerous options, service friendly, portion were the correct size. I am looking forward to visiting often and getting to know the staff better.
