The Chateau is a very nice community. It's on a busy street, but it's a nice place. The staff was nice, they invited us for lunch, and showed us the place. They also gave us little gift baskets. It wasn't quite as good as its sister community that we also visited. They have a salon, a workout room, and library, and just about anything you'd really want. They don't have cottages, and they don't have quite the privacy that the sister community has, but the price is very expensive.
The Chateau's open spaces and gathering places were crowded. When walking around, everything was hot and really uncomfortably warm. The staff members were very nice and friendly, gave us a good tour, and answered our questions. Everything was clean. We walked through the dining area while they were having a program. We saw their exercise room and some of the apartments.
The Chateau was very nice and looked more like a resort than a senior living center. Everyone there was really nice and the residents often were having a good time doing different things. The apartments were really nice as well. I loved the grounds. They had a swimming pool, a gazebo, and so on. The staff who assisted me during the tour was wonderful. I had a lot of questions and they answered everything and also called me. I saw some of the food that was being prepared. I loved the structure of the place ad its great layout.
The Chateau is excellent and beautiful. I looked at a beautiful one-bedroom. The young man who showed us around was wonderful and terrific. He's very business-like and efficient but very friendly. He's one of the best I've ever met. They had different things like card games and Wii bowling, a movie theater, and trips to different places when you need to go. They serve three meals a day.
The independent living at The Chateau was right for us. We liked the meals, utilities and housekeeping, parking, guest accommodations, and the community fees that we liked. The rent is a little bit high. The single and double occupation was permitted. The security was good, but it was close to the high traffic area. It was all inclusive except for the satellite bill. The amenities were pretty standard. They had bus drivers, kitchenettes as opposed to kitchens, and handrails in the bathroom, but no washer and dryer hook-ups. We had appliances that were provided.
The Chateau is a nice place, and its price seems right. It is close to my daughter who lives here. They offer three meals a day, electricity, garbage, and housekeeping. They have a very nice library, swimming pool, and billiard pool. There are activities during the day, and they go to different places, restaurants, and doctors' offices. I haven't been here long, but I haven't found anything bad. I joined a poker club and a few other things. The food is adequate, not top of the line because of the amount of people they have to feed, but it's OK.
The Chateau is newer and a little more updated. It was very clean and very well-maintained. The staff was wonderful, very pleasant. They provided lunch for us and the food was excellent. I liked the openness of the facility. The hallways are very wide and sometimes the residents put some of their furniture out decoratively, and that was really nice. It speaks to the safety of the place, because it's truly like a home. They had a nice pool and they offered water aerobics. They have rehab people on-site from a home health clinic, and a dentist, and an orthopedist office. That was pretty impressive. The rooms have lovely carpets, window blinds, and have very new and updated appliances.
The Chateau was probably our second choice. The place was fresh and bright; however, it was a little bit farther from us, and farther from the doctors and hospitals we use. They were friendly and accommodating.
In my search for housing, I visited several Independent Living places. Most were very nice and clean and staff helpful, but George was not only helpful but made us feel comfortably entertained as he showed us the largest, and most well-arranged, and attractive living spaces I had found with Seniors in mind. The rooms were larger, and more sq. footage; the kitchen and laundry appliances were nice and well placed, and one shower was open and large enough for a shower chair and someone else to stand behind to shampoo one's hair, while there was no stepping over a water border to enter. The central pool and hot tub surrounded by beautiful landscape was a plus, and there was even covered parking for our motorhome. The idea of having quarters available for guests was great for family visits. All the people we met were joyful. We didn't stay for a meal, so I'm unable to rate the food, but the dining area resembled a fine restaurant, and if the food is as outstanding as the rest, then who could possibly want more? There were numerous rooms for cards, games and other activities, as well as a church almost next door.
The Chateau offers the finest of senior living in McKinney. The residents are very well pampered in this facility. The active senior has plenty of amenities to fill their day with all the activities they could want.
