Cypress Woods

We are on a waiting list for Cypress Woods. We need the lowest price pointed room. After the hurricane, a lot of people from their sister facility had to come over to their facility while everything was being repaired and some of those people do not want to leave this facility. Our goal is to have my father over here by hopefully the middle of January. They've called me a couple of times with some rooms that have opened up, but they were the higher priced rooms, which we can't afford. They provide all three meals. They have a beautiful facility. They have a game room, a library, a TV room, a barber shop, a hair salon right on-site, and some chapels. I've been there twice and spoke with the staff on the phone several times, and they seemed very compassionate and very engaging. I'm looking forward to my dad being there. As far as the residents are concerned, I've seen just a few when I visited the facility twice. It was very clean and the first time that I visited we came unannounced. They were very welcoming, and everything looked very clean and orderly. On my second visit, they let me take some pictures to send to my dad over the phone. There were people cleaning. The price includes cleaning of the residents' rooms once a week and all three meals. They have activities and they provide transportation once a week to go shopping. They have one particular doctor that comes to the facility to see the residents. They have blood work done right at the facility, so that they don't have to get out and do all that. As far as cleanliness and organization, I feel like they're doing a very good job. I feel very confident that my dad will be in a good place there. The director is very compassionate, engaged, she's there for the right reasons, and she loves what she's doing. She's really the one that I had the most engagement with. I met with the activities director and she has a great personality, she's very bubbly. I didn't try the food, but they have a beautiful setup for the dining room. All the residents come to a big, beautiful dining room and eat. It's only ten minutes from my home, so the location is so much more convenient for me to be able to visit my dad and be close by.

I like Cypress Woods' open area and courtyard. They have activities daily, a swimming pool, a gym with a trainer, and a bus that goes to different places. Once a week they have a schedule that tells them where they're going, like to the mall or to the casino, which is nice. They provide housekeeping if you want it, but they don't require it. They have a hairdresser who comes once a week and an activities director. The staff is excellent, informative, helpful, knowledgeable, and eager to answer questions. They serve breakfast and lunch but dinner is on the residents. The food was great. We saw one apartment, but they didn't have any available for us. We have to go on a waiting list, but the waiting list was only for 20 days. They have people coming and going all the time.

Cypress Woods was nice. They're very accommodating and the personnel was great. If I had to choose, I'd probably go to that facility. The apartments were bigger than others and they included a kitchenette. They also supply three meals a day, which was dine-in. I like the way it operates. They had a bottom floor and I have a big dog and they accept big dogs. It had a back door where you could go out and you don't have to take the dogs to the lobby. The lady that showed me around was very nice. They invited me back for their 4th of July dinner and activities. I had dinner there and I liked the food. They had excellent staff. I liked the outside and everything had been manicured. They have activities and rooms where you could read. The setup was better than the other facilites we looked at.

Cypress Woods is clean, modern, and nicely decorated for a comfortable feeling like home. Most of the staff seems attentive and engaged. I would recommend this facility to people I know based on the caring, compassion, and general knowledge that the staff exhibited while I was on site. Overall this facility seems to be peaceful, organized, well kept, maintained and the staff seems to be knowledgeable, caring, respectful, and kind. All of these characteristics work well in providing a positive nurturing environment.

This independent facility boasts beautifully appointed building and grounds. The on-site managers and staff are exceptionally caring and dedicated to the well being of the residents. The activities director makes sure events and activities are scheduled on a daily basis that the residents truly enjoy. The food is excellent and nourishing. A great place for seniors to live.
