I liked Pinewood Hills. I liked their apartments. They were large and spacious with lots of storage space. It wasn't fully furnished, but it was nice. The staff was very professional and very friendly. It was a nice location and the grounds were pretty. It was reasonable. Some residents were going to activities, but I didn't go into the areas where they were doing them. The residents said the food is good.

I did not like Pinewood Hills. It did not have the amenities that I was looking for, specifically gym-type program. It wasn't a gated community and I didn't like the feel of it. The place is well-kept and well-maintained and the food was good. it just didn't feel like home to me. The staff was very nice, accommodating and friendly.

Pinewood Hills was pretty nice. The rooms were individual and set up pretty nicely. It’s a little bit more luxurious and spacious. Debbie was very helpful and trying to accommodate as best as she could.

Pinewood Hills was absolutely beautiful. I loved the grounds. It was very open and spacious. I liked that place. There was no kitchen in the room, which was a downside for me because I still like to cook a little. There was a kitchen downstairs where you could cook and take it upstairs. The rooms were very airy and bright. Upstairs, they had a little balcony, and downstairs, I could let my little dog outside since little dogs and cats were allowed. The manager was very pleasant and showed me around the whole place.

I Am/Was A Resident Of This Facility

I am at Pinewood Hills. It takes a two hours or more sometimes to get a meal, and their food selection is terrible. They run out of the food, and I ended up one time without anything for dinner. They couldn't feed me because they didn't have enough staff. They would arrange transportation for doctors' appointments, but people going to Wal-Mart take priority, even though I signed up on their book a week beforehand. The manager of the facility helped me sign up. I had to find my own transportation at the last minute. The people here are nasty and rude. Some of them are allowed to walk around in their underwear and others are allowed to play loud music in the halls and nobody says anything to them about it. The maintenance people are very friendly. I have a dog and I take him out through the backdoor that you can't get back into, so you have to find another door that you can get into and the residents that are inside won't let you in. They have lots of activities for raising money for different charities and you'll get sick of it. Cabbage is on the menu all the time. They don't ever give me a real piece of meat, and when they do, it's a rarity. If you want to have a meal earlier than their planned set meals, all you can have is a grilled cheese sandwich. Entertainment is the same thing over and over, but I loved the mystery tour. When you complain to the activities director, she tells you one story about what's going on and the manager will tell you another story. I would not recommend it to anyone. The food is better on Saturdays and Sundays. They don't serve cabbage on those days.

Pinewood Hills had a lot of amenities, like a hairdresser on-site, and they provided all of the meals. Everyone we met was very nice. They showed me a nice-sized one-bedroom apartment. The whole place was very clean.

I Visited This Community

Pinewood Hills is a wonderful community with beautiful landscaping. The building is well maintained outside and inside. This active community has a variety of activities for the residents. The staff encourage activities as well as provide support to the residents. The apartments are spacious, updated and pet friendly. The residents are able to enjoy a wonderful dinning experience by having 3 meals a day. The dinning room is restaurant style very open and the food is tasty. The residents have managers that live at the community and they are great advocates for the residents. This community is a non-medical community however they have onsite wellness support services that assist the residents and provide resources.
