At Bellingham Retirement Community, we offer independent living, personalized services and memory care to West Chester seniors. Our campus is unique, being centered around an eighteenth-century farm and next to Applebrook Golf Course. Our residents benefit from access to our award-winning Brain Health University and Wellness™ Everyday programs.
Bellingham Retirement Community is one of many retirement apartments owned by the Senior Lifestyle Corporation. We pride ourselves on creating senior living communities that enable seniors to live healthy and fulfilling lives, and our Wellness Everyday™ program offered at every community is praised by the International Council on Active Aging.
We offer a variety of apartments that are each equipped with emergency response systems, independent climate controls and utilities that are covered under one monthly rental fee (except phone and cable). Additionally, our community has a media room and a well-equipped fitness center for seniors to enjoy at their leisure. Our common areas are well laid out and beautifully decorated.
Delicious meals are prepared by our dining team using seasonal ingredients, and served in our community dining room each day. We also have a beauty and barber shop located right on the Bellingham Retirement Community campus. In addition to our wellness programs, residents can enjoy a varied schedule of activities and outings. We offer regular Tai Chi classes, wine and cheese socials, bingo and billiards. We also offer special events such as Easter egg hunts and themed parties.
In addition to housekeeping and maintenance services, we will transport our residents to their local errands and appointments. All of our personal care residents have their own customized plans, including medication management, help with personal hygiene and a variety of other activities of daily living.
Our memory care residents have access to our secured outdoor area for exercise and to enjoy the outdoors. Staff members are specially trained to give the care and assistance required by those suffering from cognitive decline.
Bellingham Retirement Community offers an attractive location, friendly staff and a strong sense of family.

My mother and I like Bellingham. They have activities, and her room is nice. They have a library and a dining hall. The food is pretty good. They're very helpful.
Bellingham has everything on its campus. My mom was in that facility and it was nice and convenient. They have nurses on-staff 24-hours a day and they have doctors. All their medical help was there, especially in the assisted living portion. It has separate buildings and it looked like a complex. They have little townhouses. You can have individual living, but you can have help come in to help you with your pills as well. They have an outside barbecue every weekend. All the staff members I met with were very pleasant, very professional, very caring, and took care of the residents. I was quite impressed. The food was good. Their chefs were very good. They have a lot of activities like Bingo, movie nights, games, and painting classes. They keep them active. The prices were very reasonable at the time. She was in the independent living, but she had her own nurse who fed her, made sure she got her pills, and helped her bathe.
Bellingham was great. Everything was incorporated into this one unit, and you can go from one place to another without going out, which was a great setup. However, it was purely senior living, and we'd have to secure our own medical personnel. The staff was top rate and had everything in order. The food and menu were perfect.
Thank you for sharing your review of Bellingham, Emmett! We appreciate your feedback!
My mother, Beatrice S. was a recent resident at Park Lane. Everyone was just great. Her therapy sessions were excellent. The activities were wonderful, nice variety, impressed how they try to get everyone to the activities and to participate and the different themes and decorations to go with the theme constantly. Also impressed of how accessible the management staff was. A great place.
Thank you so much for sharing your confidence in us! We appreciate your feedback and we're so pleased that your mother enjoyed her stay here with us!
