My mother-in-law is at Greenfield Senior Living at Graysonview. It's two hours away so we're not there often, but it's fine. We saw them playing bingo during our most recent visit. Her room is nice, she has one of the smallest rooms, but it's enough for her. She has a refrigerator, but no counter. They provide transportation to certain places. I have gone with her to the lunchroom, and she (as well as other residents) say the food is OK. We chose it because the price was cheaper than the others, and it was close to a family member. They have a gazebo you can walk out to.
Greenfield Senior Living at Graysonview was very nice. The person who we met with was very helpful in explaining the whole process to us. The single rooms were very nice and studio apartment size. They could bring their own furniture, and it had a bathroom. There were no cooking facilities, but they could have a little refrigerator. We saw their activity room and their schedule, and it looked like there was a fair amount going on. The care was adequate, and the staff knew the residents well. The facility was well designed for the work they do.
Greenfield Senior Living at Graysonview was a very nice place, but was more than double my budget. It's great for people in their 80s and 90s that really need help every day. The community was great. I got along with a lot of the residents when I had lunch there. They have a crafts room and they have people come in for meetings and things. I was surprised at mealtime because they came around and asked if you wanted seconds. The food was excellent. We had fish that day and macaroni and cheese. I spoke with several of the staff members and I highly recommend the way they treat the residents, like helping those who coudln't eat on their own. They were great. I just found it depressing seeing people stuck in the rooms. It gave me the impression of cells.
My visit with Greenfield Senior Living at Graysonview was very good. We met with the director and she gave us a lot of good information as far as the type of facility that it was. She also gave us some figures as to what the amounts would be and what we could work with. She was very good. She showed us the dining area. The apartments looked comfortable. The shared room looked very nice and it had a bathroom. One person would be on the right side and another person would be on the left side. It was spacious and good. There were some staff members sitting down with some of the seniors that were there, like working on a puzzle, and doing activities.
I was not impressed with Greenfield Senior Living. The building itself looked like an apartment building and there was plaster coming off the wall. The overall building needed an overhaul. Even a coat of fresh paint could have helped the place. As for the staff, I didn't think they were as professional as they should be. Also, when we parked in the back, their backdoor was open, so we walked right in that back door. In my opinion, I'm walking into a place that has older people and anybody can walk in and out that door and nobody would know about it. So that was a big turn-off. As far as the room, it wasn't all that good. The room that we looked at, which would have been for where my mom would go, was just two very small rooms and a bathroom in between them. The dining room didn't seem very clean either.
I was impressed with Greenfield. I really liked the interaction that I had with the community director. I thought she really understood our needs and took time and shared some of her own stories to make our evaluation. She was personable and relatable. I thought that the rooms looked comfortable. I liked the fact that the semi-private room had the bathroom in the middle. It was more of like two beds and one bathroom. I liked that the semi-private rooms had some sense of privacy with the way they were laid out. I liked the fact that the grounds were also beautiful; there was an outdoor gazebo and outdoor common areas where people could gather and have events. I liked the fact that they also had common areas and lounges within the facility and a salon and physical therapy. I toured the dining area, common area, and theater room.
Everybody at Greenfield Senior Living at Graysonview was very kind. The place was very clean with no weird smell and the rooms looked very nice. All the people that I met and talked to seemed to be very happy to be there. They take their residents to the mall and they have a list of activities posted on a calendar. They have laundry services and a hair salon. They also have a visiting podiatrist who comes every once in a while. They serve 3 meals a day and snacks are also provided on a counter where you can help yourself. They have a van to take the residents to their doctors' appointments.
