Peg Witham is President of Peg Witham Consulting, Inc. of Kirkland, Washington.
Peg has been helping health care and service organizations communicate with and listen to their customers for nearly 30 years. For the past 15 years she has worked almost exclusively in the senior care industry. Her experience with large national senior care organizations and small, private companies, both profit and non-profit, has given her an understanding of community operations and a sensitivity to the needs of family members navigating what can be a complex and confusing process of finding the right senior care environment. She is the author of several articles on senior care and has presented to professional and consumer groups on a variety of industry topics.
Her teaching experience includes five years as an Adjunct Professor in the School of Communication at Indiana University's Richmond campus and as a Visiting Professor of Public Relations at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington. Her corporate teaching and coaching encompasses public speaking/presentations, management-level interpersonal communication, media relations, customer service, process improvement, strategic planning and internal communication.
Peg earned her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in communication from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. The APR designation following her name stands for Accredited in Public Relations. This signifies that she is among an elite group of professionals nationally who have passed the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) rigorous accreditation process for senior public relations practitioners.
She served as the President of the Public Relations Society of America Puget Sound Chapter in 1993 and as President of the Washington State Chapter of the American Society of Healthcare Marketing and Public Relations from 1988 to 1990. In 1999 Peg was named "Outstanding Regional Marketing Director" NW Division SunBridge Health Care. She is a member of the Public Relations Society of America, the American Marketing Association, the Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development (affiliated with the American Hospital Association), the Senior Care Coalition and the Senior Care Network.
