Melissa Schulz has a Masters of Gerontology (MSG) and has worked with the aging population for more than 10 years. She has worked as a director in assisted living facilities and spearheaded fund development projects for a non-profit organization that assists seniors in need in Orange County. She believes in helping seniors remain autonomous for as long as they can.

Melissa is a writer by living, but is very involved in activist groups that help this population. She graduated in 2006 with her MSG from Cal State Fullerton and made the president’s list along with graduating with honors. She started her own copywriting company and mainly works with science and nutrition companies, some of whom target the aging population.

Melissa believes that senior facilities should integrate inter-generational programs to help people of all ages understand the value and wisdom the elderly can contribute to this world. She hopes to see these communities embrace these values and more than just house the aging, help empower each person who walks through their doors.
