Leslee Jaquette has worked as a freelance writer, photographer and publicist for more than 20 years. Her writing credentials include the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, Northwest Travel, Sailing, Cruising World and inflight magazines.
For the past three years she has served as contributing editor to Senior Messenger, a 50+ magazine published by the City of Vancouver and Clark County, Washington. She contributes articles about senior care and senior housing as well as a wide range of profiles, health & wellness, travel and business articles.
When Leslee’s children were young, she utilized her master’s degree in special education as a private tutor. Recently, Leslee has returned to part-time substitute teaching in the Seattle area.
Leslee appreciates seniors and the depth of their experience. She has had the good fortune to have several elder mentors and regards her mother (age 86) as her best friend and best model for how to age gracefully. An avid reader (philosophy was her first degree), outdoor woman, seeker and lifelong learner, Leslee recently earned her Level I Yogafit Instructor credentials. She plans on using her new skills to teach basic yoga to seniors.
