2013 Best Senior Living Communities - Program Details and Rules
The Best Senior Living Awards aim to recognize the top senior living communities in the largest U.S. metropolitan markets using a combination of resident and family surveys, expert opinions, state inspection data and more.
How the Awards Program Works
In each Awards Program Market, we will name a Winner and a list of the Top Rated Communities.
Winners and Top Rated Communities will receive press coverage via local media and increased visibility on the SeniorHomes.com website.
All Winners and Top Rated Communities will be entitled to use the official SeniorHomes.com “Winner” and “Top Rated” badges on their website, Facebook page, or in any other online or printed marketing materials.
We determine Winners and Top Rated Communities using the SeniorHomes.com Rating system. Ratings are determined using resident and family reviews, local expert opinions, state inspection data and more.
All assisted living, independent living* and memory care communities with a resident capacity of 10 or more residents in each metropolitan market will be eligible to be named a Winner or a Top Rated Community for their area. See a full list of eligible cities for the 2013 Best Senior Living Awards.
Entrants who do not have a completed profile page on SeniorHomes.com must claim their profile to be eligible. If you do not know if your community profile has been claimed, search our site for your community or call one of our advisors at 888-387-0587 for help. Claiming a profile is free and only takes about 10 minutes.
*For Independent Living communities to qualify for the SeniorHomes Rating and Best Senior Living Awards program, the communities must be for “rental” only (as opposed to purchasing units) and also offer some services such as activities, meals, transportation, etc.
During the Voting Period, Communities have two ways to improve their SeniorHomes.com Rating and increase their chances in the Awards Program: by providing Professional References and by obtaining positive reviews of their community.
We use professional references as local experts (among other factors) to help us to determine the SeniorHomes.com Rating for each community. By providing professional references who know and like their community, representatives can positively impact their SeniorHomes.com Rating. Community representatives may provide professional references by filling out the professional reference form linked from their community profile page on SeniorHomes.com.
Residents and their families that are willing to post a review on SeniorHomes.com are a strong endorsement of the quality of a community. Communities can improve their Rating and chances in the awards program by encouraging residents, family members, and visitors to post reviews during the Voting Period.

Vote Boosting Kits
Communities that provide professional references to us by the “Vote Boosting kit deadline” (see deadlines below) will receive a free marketing kit with collateral to help generate resident and family reviews.
The final rankings in our regional and national awards program will be final and un-appealable. All matters of interpretation of the rules of this contest will be determined in the sole and absolute discretion of SeniorHomes.com.
