Brookstone Alzheimer's Special Care Center is part of JEA Senior Living which operates communities from the Great Lakes region to the West Coast. Founded by Jerry Erwin, JEA Senior Living is focused on providing retirement living and assisted living to seniors. Having seen a need for quality memory care following his own mother's struggle with Alzheimer's disease, he and his extended family opened their first Alzheimer's Special Care Center and have opened over 50 highly specialized centers since.

From our beautiful and secure landscaped courtyard to our activities and supervised outings or the three delicious meals lovingly-prepared by our chefs, we see to it that each day is bright and meaningful.
There is an assortment of private and semi-private units to choose from, allowing personal space where residents can live their lives just as they always had, but with the services and support when needed. Independent living and assisted living communities offer a wider option of floor plans including studios, one- and two-bedroom apartment homes, complete with kitchenettes and activities tailored toward a more independent lifestyle.
Available Services
Our memory care facilities are centered on our Meaningful Moments program, which is designed to serve the needs of those afflicted with memory loss conditions such as Alzheimer's or other dementias. We start by getting to know the resident, understanding their preferences and favorite memories and from there we build a program for them incorporating the familiar ensuring a comfortable environment.
Our electronically monitored security system is there to ensure safety. Specially trained caregivers are available 24 hours a day and seven days a week to provide guidance, support and assistance with activities of daily living.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident
The thing that sticks out the most right when you walk into Brookstone is that every staff member knows every resident by their name and knows what their care plan is. They look at and talk to the residents the way I would talk to a close acquaintance when we meet somewhere. The place is perfect, clean, very well-maintained, pleasant, and the indoor courtyard is amazing. It's also easy to get to and is in a nice neighborhood area. My mother-in-law has a room that has a bathroom and a sink outside the bathroom -- it's roomy and perfect. Most of the residents share bathroom facilities because of their level of needs. The food is something they're aware of and we've talked to them about, but they're striving to do better. The price is a good value knowing that she is with loving and caring people.

Brookstone was beautiful and amazing but too expensive. The facility was so well kept, and the dining area was set up like a restaurant.

I visited this facility
Brookstone was excellent. The lady who showed me around was very knowledgeable and personable. We toured the main area, the dining room, and some living quarters. It was a very thorough visit. The room that they showed us was nice. The grounds were nice too. The dining area was OK; it was appropriate for what it was. The residents only had a shower assist once a week, but I think it is important to get cleaned up more than that.
