I only visited Waterford Grand and we picked that one. The rooms were small but a perfect size. The staff was wonderful, everybody was very happy, smiling, and very accommodating. They have games, card games, Mexican train games, they have a pool, and they take them places to go shopping. They do their nails and they have a beauty salon.
My husband was placed at Waterford Grand. I was impressed and continue to be impressed by them. I like the staff. The facilities are modern, very well maintained and well placed. It's an area that's very attractive to my husband because he was always interested in fishing, and it's right near the water. He's a very picky eater but for the most part I've seen he's satisfied with what he is being served. He is in memory care. I love their activity director. She's taken a very personal concern in my husband and encourages him to take part in things that he is capable of doing. Of those I visited, this was the best. I'm impressed with the activity director, the nurses, and the ratio to patients. My only hang-up is they accept private pay only, but so far I've been able to handle it because we have insurance, and they're trying to help us with that.
My mom has moved into Waterford Grand. It's phenomenal. The place is lovely. I would be happy to live there myself. My mother likes their food. She is also busier now than she has ever been. They go on field trips, have music events, and do bingo and cooking classes. My mother loves her room. She said it is cute and just the right size. She also loves that she doesn't have to clean or cook. It's expensive but totally worth it.
I like the size and the amount of activities at Waterford. The staff seemed well organized. The rooms were nice, and the dining room was beautiful and looked out over the river. The food was varied and pretty good. They had a pool, exercise classes, lectures, crafts, and a lot of different stuff going on. They bring a lot of music in, and try to do a good variety of things. I appreciate that they have a personal preferences coordinator to help each individual get settled and figure out what kind of activities they want to do. I think that’s a smart idea, which is one of the reasons I picked them.
