Senior Star at Woodland Terrace - CLOSED

My visit at Senior Star at Woodland Terrace was excellent. The lady we were dealing with was Caroline, who listened to everything I had to say and followed up with me even though our situation changed. I would highly recommend them. My mother-in-law was a resident there several years back, and they were excellent then, too, so I regard them highly. They recently went through a renovation and the dining area has been upgraded, it's very nice and open. The chef and people who work in the dining area come out and try to get to know you. They find out what your likes and dislikes are and try to cater to that so that was pretty awesome. The rooms are really good, if you started at a studio size, it's small but adequate. You could only fit several pieces of furniture in there, like the hospital bed, table, plant table, the closet, TV, and a loveseat. The one-bedroom apartment was very nice and had a full kitchen, living room, a separate bedroom, and bathroom. They also had a two-bedroom and a three-bedroom apartment. They provided an area for the residents to collect during storms and try to ensure that every one of them can get down and be in one place in case something happens.

Woodland Terrace is an excellent place. I like it. Their rooms are excellent, and the staff is friendly.

The exterior physical appeal of Senior Star at Woodland Terrace would be a four, and the interior would be a three. Inside the room that we were showed, the walls were dirty, there weren't any doors on the closets or bathroom because they’d all been removed, and it needed to be completely renovated. Parking was difficult to get close to the front door because it’s all reserved for the clients, which from a client’s standpoint or from a resident’s standpoint would be good, but I had to park far away and walk up a hill. I’m disabled and so is my sister, so that was difficult. The grounds were very pretty and well kept. They had used a lot of heat-tolerant plants that were blooming, and it was very attractive. The staff was friendly and caring, and they went out of their way to make us feel happy, comfortable, and wanted. If they had already rehabbed their apartment building or apartment rooms with new carpeting and new paint, we probably would have stayed there.
