I'm really happy with Paramount Senior Living at Westerville. They have been really attentive. My father's room is always clean and tidy. They have people going in a couple times a week to clean up after him and get his trash. I've been pretty happy with everything. They have different crafts and take the residents out to do things. My dad is a picky eater, but he loves the food. They've done everything they said they were going to do, and my dad hasnt had any issues. My dad is in assisted living, and he has a level 1 care where they give him his medication and check on him. They contact me if anything's needed and keep me updated on everything as far as medication, what my father is doing or if he's not feeling well. Theyre putting new carpets down and revamping the whole interior.
I went to Brookdale Cooper Road. The facility itself was very pleasant, but some of the people who were living there were very rude. I tried to sit down at the table in their main sitting area and this lady came up and took my table. She had a very rude or hateful look in her eyes. The director was very nice and very pleasant. The rooms were OK. The two-bedrooms had plenty of room with a living room and a bedroom. I found it to be OK and would recommend it.
Brookdale Cooper Road is a very nice place. The rooms were spacious and well taken care of. They also have a lot of activities for the residents like bingo and things like that. A couple of times a week they have people who come in to sing and play the piano, which my mother-in-law enjoys. The first time we went they gave us a meal. We've also had a couple of family meals there. The food is actually very good and they have a good selection. They've also worked with us on the cost. They also have 24-hour care.
The layout of Brookdale Cooper Road seemed very nice with it just being two floors and the center of the main floor was the gathering space for everyone. As far as overall appearance, it seemed outdated compared to some of the other properties, but it was the cheapest one I saw as well. The person during the tour was very friendly and took her time to show me different things and answer my questions.
My visit with Brookdale was OK. They had a one-bedroom apartment wherein you can bring your own furniture and had a small refrigerator and stove. It was nice, but it was more like a room. They had a small patio at the back. It was an outrageously expensive, ala carte place, and you add money for a garage. They had a bus to go to church, a library, a place for crochet, and a pub. It wasn't for me.
Brookdale Cooper Road is awful. Mom pushes her call button for help and it takes over an hour to get somebody there. At one point, she had bruises on both her arms. The staff turnover is incredible, and they didn't have an executive director for a long time. It's just not a good situation. They had an activity director who quit, so they hired a new one. I see very few activities going on. They have a church come in only once a month. Right now, they don't have a whole lot of activities available. The food is pretty good, and some of the staff is good too.
My visit at Brookdale Cooper Road went very well. They answered all my questions and I got a tour of the facility. It made a good impression and the staff was very friendly. The studio apartment I saw was adequate and seemed well-equipped. The place seemed well-planned and adequate for the needs of the residents.
I toured Brookdale Cooper Road. The person that showed me around was very helpful and gave me a lot of good information. It was a good experience. They showed us a studio and a 1-bedroom, which were a good size. They both have a kitchenette. They provide food, laundry, general assistance with bathing and walking, assistance to get around, and help with medication.
Brookdale Cooper Road looked open, clean, and welcoming. The guide who gave us the tour was very personable and straightforward. The dining area seemed very nice, and the tables were set for four to get the residents chatting. When we were there, it was all set up and ready for the next meal.
Executive director doesn't care about staff or residents. Only thing the company worries about is the bottom line. Activities in both units are sub-par. All staff that cares is leaving or has already left. The staffing is incredibly inadequate and the residents do not get the service that they are being over charged for.
I didn't care for Brookdale Cooper Road. It was dark and the residents in the memory care didn't look happy. They needed more natural lighting. That's very important for people with dementia and Alzheimer's, and they just didn't have it. It was very dark in there. The staff answered my questions and were accommodating. I just didn't get the feeling that they all really cared that much. It felt like it was just a job.
Brookdale was beautiful outside, but inside, it didn’t have great upkeep, and it was kind of dark. I liked the staff I met. However, they didn’t have a locked down memory care.
