The Oaks at Whitaker Glen is Raleigh's premier continuing care retirement community providing independent living with supportive services and skilled nursing care at our 5 star healthcare center, The Oaks at Mayview. Residents are able to make a seamless transition between these levels of care all on the same beautiful campus. Because of the close proximity of our buildings, residents always have their spouse or friends close by for support as their healthcare needs change. To further enhance the services we provide, we have opened a home health office onsite and plans are underway for the addition of an assisted living facility on campus in the near future.

The best way to get to know a community is by scheduling a tour. See the facilities, meet the staff and residents, and get a feel first hand what it's like to live at The Oaks at Whitaker Glen Assisted Living.
Management has a fundamental lack of respect for their residents. They began a year long exterior renovation with less than one weeks notice to the residents subjecting them to live in a noisy and filthy construction site for more than one year. They state that they are under a multi year multi phase expansion plan but they do not give any further info as to weather or not that means one year or ten years. If you do not mind on going construction in your golden years this might be a fit?
Not giving 5 stars because the facility is horribly outdated. The staff is the reason to choose Mayview. My mom is here under hospice care. She can do very little for herself, but never have I felt that she has been mistreated or disrespected. You walk in and everyone has a smile for you and a moment to listen. Such a refreshing change.
Some really nice and good people work here; they should work at a better place overall. Built in 1957 and other than railings and a few door changes, it looks like it was last remodeled in 1970. 1950's tile in the baths, 1950-1970's cabinets, wallpaper missing or peeling, 1950's plumbing pipes (taste the water), 1970's beds with newer mattresses but it was clean. Most general everyday workers are very good and seem to care; the ones with the degrees are not nearly as good. Nice oak filled location but the building/s need imploding. I think the place would probably be (okay) for someone in fairly good shape when they arrive. Pruitt should think about newer building first off; maybe building one!!!! I'd look around before choosing this.
