Carriage House is excellent, but they went up in price to a point where my parents couldn't afford it. I would rate them a five in appearance. They have activities daily for the residents, but it's not pushy. For example, no one comes to your room to remind you that there's bingo at 4:00. So if you don't read the calendar or you don't read the bulletin board in the dining room, you don't know what's going on. I thought that was weird. They could just print out flyers and give them to the residents or leave them on their doors. The food was not great at all, and I was surprised by that. They have a big room where they do activities and my mother likes getting her nails done there. It's a beautiful building, and my parents have a nice apartment there. It's a double room. Overall, the value for the money is not good.
We like the people and the staff of Carriage House. It feels like an antique building. I think they missed some of the details, but it's nice and clean. The food is awful, they should get somebody who can cook, but there are activities we participate in and exercises.
I loved Carriage House. The person I talked to was absolutely wonderful, very caring, and wanted to do everything he could to make sure that my mom would be a good fit there. He showed me around the place and he was just excellent and sold me on the place. They have a beauty shop and exercise room. Their bulletin board is very nice because it lets you know what's happening on a daily basis. The place was very lovely.
We chose Carriage House for my father. He has been there for a little over a month now. The staff members have been very workable. They have worked with things we have asked for. They have a beautiful community room where all the residents gather. It has a great big TV, a popcorn machine, and very comfortable and pleasant furniture. It's like home. My father's room is very suitable for his purposes. I like the menu because it is very diverse. Some days they have things that you can buy in a restaurant, but then sometimes they'll have cold soup and a sandwich. Their kitchen staff is great. We had Thanksgiving dinner with Dad and it was wonderful. I think Carriage House is absolutely one of the top three in Greensboro, NC for memory care, but there's always room for improvement. For example, their activities could stand some improvement.
