My visit to Jordan Oaks was a good experience, but it doesnt have what we need. It seemed okay, the rooms were small, and they offer 2 meals a day. They had a gym, swimming pool, library, and computer room. The staff seemed okay.
I liked the facilities at Jordan Oaks, but I just wasn't really impressed with them. When I went in, I met the lady who was going to show me around and she gave me a 10-minute tour. She sat me down with one of the residents who was a very nice lady, but she was telling me about the problems that they had there. The lady who showed me around was nice, but didn't do much of a tour. They had some apartments that looked nice and kind of opened out into a grassy area. The general cafeteria was huge, but crowded. Everybody seemed really nice though. There wasn't an awful lot in the exercise room and it was not as well-equipped as the other places. There was a beautician that came in as well. It was an older place, but it was beautiful, and it had nice amenities and decorations.
Jordan Oaks is lovely and the environment is great. I do think that the kitchens in the rooms should be bigger, because there's only half-a sink in the kitchen. There's lots of storage space, a huge bedroom, and a very nice big bathroom. The kitchen has no space for a dining table so we had to make the table smaller. My mother loves everybody including her PT and OT, and she's receiving a lot of love. It takes a long time to take the food, and they sit there for a good half-hour before the salad comes around. She says the food is OK. Not great, but OK. They also have guest rooms so I can stay there for a visit. They have so many activities going on there, and my mother is only paying $2,800.
Jordan Oaks just didn't feel right when we walked in. I couldn't really pinpoint anything, but there was nothing negative that I can say about it. The staff was very friendly and he followed up with several phone calls. The dining area was quite open, airy, and pleasant. The rooms were clean, updated, and seemed fine.
