My dad recently moved in to Castle Pointe. After mom passed away we were worried that dad would be lost. We moved him from their townhouse to Castle Pointe. Since the move he has done nothing but thrived. He attends social events, goes on outings and eats meals (he loves the food and has gained 5 lbs...yeah!) with other residents. He likes his apartment very much as he received new carpet and flooring. His new friends told him that new common area furniture is coming soon too! My dad is happy and content which makes us kids happy! Thanks Castle Pointe at Baywinde.
It is a pretty place with a caring staff but absolutely not worth the money they charge. You will not get your money's worth. The food is very lacking. Enjoy a cold breakfast, for starters, six day a week. As far as cost, expect an increase every year. Be prepared for that.

It's been two months since my mother-in-law transitioned to Baywinde (Independent Living) in Webster, New York. We never thought she would have adjusted as quickly as she did. Mary is 94 years old and had lived in her home for nearly 50 years. Unfortunately her home was multi level and we were concerned about her going up and down stairs. From day one the staff at Baywinde has been fabulous. They have been there for us as well as Mary. We can't thank them enough. For the first time in years we don't worry about her constantly. The atmosphere is unsurpassable. The facility has the appearance of a Resort. Very bright and cheery. Her apartment is lovely. A true "home". On a final note....the food is second to none. Five Star for sure !!!!
Baywinde has a very uncaring atmosphere. Beautiful facility but individual care was extremely disappointing. Originally accepted my mom in assisted and charged extra for everything she needed which was guidance to dining and back. Shortly after, they insisted she needed Memory care, against our wishes, promising her one-on-one activities and quality of life would be so much better. Not once did my sisters or I witness any contact with her except to say it was mealtime over the greater than one year she was a resident. We felt they ignored her, constantly lost her hearing aid, always questioned help with personal hygiene care promised, and sent her to the hospital numerous times, once because of a fall we were sure was caused by facility negligence but unable to prove, then made it extremely difficult for her to return to her "own home" (which was Baywinde). Eventually they sent her to the ER for being "tired" then totally refused her return. If you want a loving, caring facility/people, do not send your loved one to Baywinde. We have always been sorry we were lured into a beautiful facility whose actual care of our mother never came close to expectations.
