I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My sister is in Diamond Ridge. It's very pleasant and clean. It's an excellent retirement home. The staff is all courteous and friendly. The only downfall is the meals. They tend to cut corners for cost on the food, so the quality is not that great and it's not flavorful. The activities and everything are nice, but food needs improvement.

Diamond Ridge was excellent and there's nothing negative I can say about the place. It's a beautiful facility. The person who gave us the tour was fantastic, went over every detail, provided great information, and left us with all we needed to know. They have painting, field trips, exercising, and bingo. The amenities were fabulous and they provide breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and there are laundry facilities. It was just great.

My dad is living in Diamond Ridge and it's nice and clean. He gets three meals a day, and the staff has been very nice, courteous and helpful. The grounds are well kept. They've had church services there, and my dad has had exercise classes.

We didn't really like Diamond Ridge because the access was up a very steep hill and it didn’t look like the grounds were well taken care of. They didn't offer a choice of meals and it was a mandatory three meals a day, and we didn't care for that. They showed us an apartment with no stove. The person who gave us the tour was very nice, helpful, polite, and answered all our questions. The dining area looked good. They had a lot of activities listed.

My visit at Diamond Ridge was very nice. I had lunch there, and it was very good. My dad needs assisted living, but this place is independent. The staff members were very nice, but this place wasn't for him. It was also an older place, and the rooms seemed older. It wasn't brand new or modern.

When you visit here, for an hour or more, and talk to current residents you might think, with some degree of accuracy, that there is some exaggerated or false marketing for this place because it is more and more an assisted living facility. Newer residents need a lot of assistance and have to hire private aids for personal care and taking meds, since the facility does not have any. A number of newer residents have dementia. Some wander around late in the evening and can't find their way back to apts. and frequently harass other residents The facility no longer has around-the-clock staffing. There is potential for some of the more mentally challenged residents to unintentionally let in to the facility those that don't belong there and could potentially put others and their belongings at risk. Some could endanger themselves by exiting building and not being able to get back in; falling on icy sidewalks and parking lot (not always salted, sanded or plowed adequately. All parking is uncovered and has only limited physically challenged parking spaces. Some residents park vehicles and only rarely move them them, incoveniencing others. Activities are limited and primarily focused on more challenged, less cultured, educated or able to think independentally. Only has one maintance person who is overworked and can''t keep up with work load so has to operate with a triage mentality or respond to the squeeky wheal or resident with connections or strong family advocates. Only has one elevator that reportedly breaks down frequently causing meals to be served in rooms. They don't have a real activity room that often necessitates activities to be held in foyer/receptionist area with access to elevator limited. Ancient physical fitness equiipment (only 2 pieces, one of which doesn't work). And it's located in one of the only 2 lounges and not in a separate work-out room. Roof has had a leak for awhile and ownership doesn't want to put money into maintenance/repairs, or replacement. Many of the toilets are the height of a da y care facility.Rent increases are yearly and triple the inflation rate."

I liked the location of Diamond Ridge. It's a little isolated, but close enough to places that you could go and shop. It looked OK. I have two dogs and not every place will accommodate two dogs, but they were willing to. They had places where you can walk, they are near a park in Troy, and they have a veterinarian close by. The place was clean and it had places where you could have meals. They don't provide meals for five days a week, but you can buy a plan. They have a place for my car if I want. You can either purchase a garage or you can park outside. They have an exercise area, a small coffee shop, and a dining room. The staff seemed very cordial to people. The facility was very clean.

I visited this facility

I visited Diamond Ridge, and it reminded me of my mother's place, which is an Alzheimer's facility. I'm 62 years old, and most of the people there were on walkers around the ages of 70-90. However, the staff member was very nice, friendly, and knowledgeable. She gave me a nice tour.

Diamond Ridge was very nice, but was way out of my price range. They offer a lot of activities. Everybody I had contact with seemed pleasant.
