Centrally located along the scenic North Shore of Long Island just minutes from Stony Brook University Hospital, the West Meadow Wetlands Reserve and the banks of Smithtown Bay, Sunrise of East Setauket is a charming retirement community that provides caring and compassionate senior living services and memory care to New York seniors.
Sunrise of East Setauket is part of Sunrise Senior Living. Founded by Paul and Terry Klaassen in 1981, Sunrise started with a vision to create senior living that champions quality of life for all seniors.

Our goal every day at Sunrise of East Setauket is to ensure that our residents are leading full and active lives. We schedule a number of activities that engage the physical, social, learning and spiritual side of life. We also encourage our residents to form clubs around common interests and even schedule trips to nearby attractions.
We offer residents their choice of private or shared apartments that come in a selection of studio, one- and two-bedroom floor plans. Apartments feature plush carpeting, private bathrooms, large windows and convenient kitchenettes. Seniors are encouraged to decorate with their own personal belongings and even bring along their favorite pet.

Staying in good health is an important ingredient to remaining happy in later years and eating well is a key component of that. That’s why we provide our residents three nutritious and delicious meals every day along with an assortment of healthy snacks.
To lighten the workload for our residents, our professional staff are on hand 24 hours a day to handle everything from laundry to removing trash to light housekeeping. We even employ an on-site nurse to create and monitor wellness plans for our residents.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident
My mom has been in Sunrise of East Setauket and they're doing great. They actually got her to start working, so I'm very happy with that. The staff members are very good. They have two lovely porches, one outside, and one inner porch, so that's very nice. My wife loves their soup and loves the food. They give an extra bowl to my wife when she goes to feed my mom.

I visited this facility
Sunrise of East Setauket has a nice entrance way, but not much in the way of grounds. The facility was beautiful and fairly new. The staff was super nice. They have a place to eat and they have set times and smaller menu options. The rooms were nice. They also have semi-private rooms, but the room you sleep in, you can close the door. They have pretty nice activities like bingo, exercises, and an arts and crafts room.
