I visited Walden Place, and it seemed like a very nice place. The staff member seemed very friendly and very nice. They had a social room, a common room where they can do stuff, and a kitchen that serves the food.
Walden Place was very nice, clean, and well-kept. Everybody looked happy. They were very pleasant and accommodating. The dining area was very pleasant. It was restaurant-style. They had their menu and residents were seated with groups at tables. It seemed very pleasant.

My brother and I agonized over putting Dad in a facility due to his advanced dementia. I live in WI and he local to this facility. Management and staff were very patient with us and our indecision. The accommodated many visits for lunch and spent a lot of time talking and planning. When my brother went on vacation, I flew out to look after Dad. In my heart I knew he needed this but it is still tough. The staff understand that and are sympathetic and compassionate. They really do bend over backwards to assist in anyway they can. The food is great, the facility is clean and care is top notch. I am so grateful we found Walden and we can rest easy knowing Dad well cared for, safe and comfortable. Strongly recommended.
We do understand that it was a difficult decision for you and your brother. We believe that the multiple visits with your dad, leading up to the move-in day, helped your father to adjust more easily. Thank you for entrusting us with caring for your dad.
My grandfather LOVES it here! The staff is wonderful and so is the food. They are given a menu for each meal and servers take their order. The other residents are on his same level, so he has made fast friends. It's a private facility, however there is a special assisted living benefit to war veterans that helps to cover the cost. I'm happy because he is happy. He has a studio style apartment with his own mailbox. It might sound silly, but at 87 years old, those are things that really matter to him. The staff has bent over backwards to make it affordable and to help find ways to cover the cost. It's completely worth every penny.
