I Visited This Facility
The people at Atria seemed very active and happy. A lot of them were leaving to drive somewhere when we were there. The rooms seemed very nice, and the dining area seemed good. The director who brought me around was very good, and answered my questions. They publish their activity schedule online, they have speakers come in, the residents can have garden plot they can take care themselves, and they have an area set aside for playing games and cards. They have an area with snacks and they are open to residents for the whole day.
I Am A Friend Or Relative Of A Current/Past Resident
My sister was a resident of Atria Shaker. She had an excellent rapport with the employees, the kitchen staff and other staff, but not so much with the management. She gave them 30 days' notice and she was out in 30 days plus three hours and the manager charged her another month's rent. For the care that my sister got, I'd have to give it a 3. The employees, like the kitchen staff and the cleaning staff, were a 5. They were very kind and helpful for her. Management was a 2. The rooms were much smaller than where she was, and the price went up from $3,400 to $3,700 a month. The facility was clean and had housekeeping. The kitchen people brought meals to her room because downstairs in the dining area was too loud and too noisy and with her brain injury, she couldn't tolerate it. The kitchen people were very helpful to her, but she had to manage the rest for herself. She was rarely able to get any kind of transportation to her doctors' appointments. She always had to manage on her own. She liked the food.
