Cedar Crest was unbelievable. It was high end, top quality all around. The rooms and the amenities were incredible. Everything was over the top. They have different clubhouses with all kinds of activities. They have community gardens and all sorts of artistic venues. I can't say enough about it. We had dinner there and it was excellent.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Cedar Crest is a great community, I enjoyed going up there. It has assisted living, extended care, and independent living. They have all kinds of activities for the residents. It's really a lovely place. When I used to first go there, there were one or two of those jazzy wheelchairs, but now you have to be careful not to get run-over because everyone seems to have them. Their dining room is set up really nice, and the residents get beepers to let them know that their table is ready. They have socials with wine on certain nights, a swimming pool, an exercise room, a beauty salon, and physical therapy room. The grounds are very nice also. The person who showed me around was one of the residents. They even have a performing facility with a TV. The facilities are wonderful.

Cedar Crest is absolutely beautiful. The scenery is beautiful too. There are different levels as you go. You get one meal a day, and there are lots of activities. They go to New York to go to the theater, and they take you to the mall. The downpayment is large. You do get it back if you leave or if you pass away. The kids get back everything but 10% if there's anything left. However, I think it's more assisted living than independent. Also, it is on a very busy road and that put me off more than anything. The second time I went back, the apartment that I liked was gone. It was beautiful and it had a lovely view. The first lady who assisted me was very jolly, very happy, and very bubbly, but the second lady was not very good. The second lady was nowhere near as good as the first lady who took us around.

Cedar Crest goes from basic senior care up to assisted living. One thing I noticed was that they had a lot of activities to help the seniors stay active, likewatercolor painting, a library, indoor pool, gym facilities, and things like that. The staff was really nice, and the only time they really get involved is with the assisted living. We visited the primary care area which basically is like living on your own and really nice. They served lunch and dinner, and the food was good. They could probably improve the service at the front desk when you're coming to visit somebody. You have to buy into this place and live out the rest of your time there; it's not something you pay monthly but upfront instead. I also feel like the place could be updated because it's a little older.
