I am/was a resident of this facility
Hi...I currently reside at Chelsea in Montville. The interview was nice and Louise could not have been nicer. Upon moving in almost 2 months ago.... Honestly, totally opposite of what she shared with me. I explained in detail why I needed Assistant living and that it was suggested two years ago during my stay at two nursing home facilities....I faught it as long as I could, but finally surrendered after my last 2 falls at my home. I am in pain 24/7, memory is getting worse and worse... especially after having Covid last year while at a nursing home in Hope, NJ, I have several disabilities which they were aware of prior to me moving in. Since being here I have been bullied by 3 people who work here....2 of whom run the facility as well as the head of nursing....They will go to ANY and ALL lengths to cover up their mistakes...it has gotten so bad that I have to write EVERYTHING down due to my memory... they will twist and turn things to the point you start questioning yourself which is why I started writing each and every interaction down. I even explained a couple times that I\'m aware I look okay on the outside, however, I am always confused, very forgetful and cannot handle stress ontop of stress heightens my pain tremendously. Upon arrival I had a very bad UTI and I had not taken my synthroid (my fault) for over a month. Both of these tend to effect the brain. I was sure to make them aware of this and also asked to see a therapist. They not one time took any of this serious and just kept bullying me until I was crying, studdering and then having a full blown panic attacks. This past Friday they ran out of my pain medication....of course they blamed it on me. As two employees told me \"This is why so many people leave here\" Nobody has time to sit and talk (due to Covid we are all in our rooms) however, they always have time to come to your room and cover up their mistakes and bully. Each resident pays 22.50 for \"cable\" no movie channels, music channels etc. My room is nice and it is clean and kept up each week by a lovely woman.....unfortunately due to only having Medicaid I have half the room...8 ft. The food and all the employees that deliver our food are excellent. The Aids are ALL from another country....most do not understand english and we can\'t understand them...the ONLY words I\'ve heard from them are \"I don\'t know\" \"that\'s not my job\" or \" I just got here\" while walking away from you as you are speaking.... frustrating to say the least. Laundry is done for us once a week and the woman who picks our clothes up and delivers them back the same day is beyond sweet. Activities dept. They all seem very nice but due to Covid...No activities at all. Most day\'s they (the residents) get me through the day...just seeing them, waving or sometimes talking. I fell again today... Voiced it to a employee not one person came to see if I was okay???? That is my biggest fear being here.... the aids take forever to come if they come at all when I buzz for them.....I don\'t even use it anymore...Easier for me to get what I need if possible. Last week one of them told me they have no idea if someone needs help due to their equipment is broken and they only have one for all of them and there are two floors???? God bless and please be safe out there.
