I visited Brookdale Cape May, they only showed me a studio, it was very small, and I didnt like it at all. I saw a group of seniors sitting around a TV, slumped over, looking at a TV, and they actually had nurses come to my house and look over my medication plan and everything. Even though I have my own oxygen, they charge you $500 just to come in with an oxygen tank. That turned me off right there. I saw a nice dining area, it was pretty, but there was very little activity and interactions with the residents. Thats what I didnt like. They have a sitting room in the front of the building and rooms go on either side of it.

I'm extremely impressed with the professionalism of the staff in Brookdale Cape May. I liked the cleanliness and beauty of the place, and the care they take in making things easier for the residents. For example, there are handrails down the hallways, and in the bathroom. The dining room is beautiful and set up more like a restaurant, and they have choices in what they can eat. They don't have to just eat whatever is being served. In their Alzheimer's unit they are doing different things, and they try to keep them busy instead of just letting them sit around. I would highly recommend this community once my loved ones are ready to move.
