My mother moved into Joy Assisted Living. They have a private room which is large, spacious, and well maintained. They have semi-private rooms, which are a little on the small side, and they share a bathroom for the two residents. They also have a small private room, which is a little too small and also shares a bathroom with the next-door facility, so we didn't care for that. The larger room was very nice, and that's the one we ended up getting. We're very pleased with the very conscientious staff. It's owner-operated, so the owner is there daily. They have a nursing staff, and we're very satisfied with everybody there. They offer quite a few amenities, and activities and she takes advantage of their hairdresser and a few things. The food quality is not so great for me. It's like an elementary school cafeteria and not the most appetizing. These places are expensive, but this is the best value that we found.
Joy Assisted Living was much older and not as sparkly clean like the others, but the price was a whole lot less. They're serving the need of their clientele or people, but it was quite a distance from us. We didn't see any activities. The one thing that stuck in my mind was they had a nurse five days a week and didn't have one all the time. It's an older place that was pretty close to full capacity. It wasn't what we needed for my sister.
We toured Joy Assisted Living and it was a nice place. The staff I met seemed very nice, friendly, and accommodating. The grounds seemed very clean and it was in a convenient location. The rooms were clean, very neat, and everything smelled nice.
