I Visited This Facility

Brookdale Grand Blanc was my favorite. The only thing against them is they're very much a la carte and they're hideously expensive. That's the downside. Everything else is kind of nice. They provide furniture at no extra charge. Their base price per month is $3,750 plus up to $2,200 more. They sometimes offer a rate lock. The food smelled good and they do their own cooking. The woman in charge of it was very friendly and very nice and I bet it's good food. The people were lively there, even in memory care. The people were pretty perky. The only thing that I noticed that wasn't a plus as far as safety is concerned is there were no handrails along the hallways. Even the sales people knew the names of the residents and I thought that was great. Tthey do an excellent job of training everyone, even their sales staff, for how to deal with dementia problems. The pricing is a la carte. The facility was very pleasant, clean, and well lit. Some of the residents had pets that live there.

I Am A Friend Or Relative Of A Current/Past Resident

This is a nice place from an eye appeal perspective, however the level of care is below par. The staff there appears on the surface to care, but the actual services are poor. Our father nearly died due to neglect in this place. For this facility to be a more upper level memory unit they don't give their clients the needed attention they should be getting. Some of the staff steal from the rooms or services IE: COX services by accessing clients accounts and renting or purchasing items, which with or without consent is inappropriate. We were told that this company provides care up to the end, however now we see that up to the end means due to lack of care on their part could mean the end. I DO NOT recommend sending your parent or loved one here.

Description of Brookdale Grand Blanc

At Brookdale Grand Blanc we know that memory losses due to Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia are progressive and residents' needs are continually changing. That's why we provide balance in our residents' capabilities, personalities, and preferences to create daily routines that enhance their spirits and increase their sense of purpose. We believe the amount of satisfaction our Alzheimer's and dementia care residents receive from the tasks that fill their days goes a long way to maintaining their sense of purpose and overall satisfaction with life. An integral part of this is our promise to encourage each resident to find Daily Moments of Success. To help our residents achieve these moments, our associates receive the tools and training needed in such key areas as specialized dining and the ongoing monitoring of healthcare and behavioral needs, to name a few.

We provide Alzheimer's and dementia care residents with the lifestyle, housing, and services they need in comfortable surroundings combined with the amenities, programs, and care to help stimulate recognition, recall, and wellness in a safe environment. Through years of caring for individuals with dementia, our professional care staff has learned to create optimal surroundings and approaches to care. Familiar environments that our residents have enjoyed throughout their lives are recreated to help them feel reassured and comfortable. The Alzheimer's and dementia care programs at Brookdale Grand Blanc are built to embrace, not restrict our residents' desire to wander and to provide a sense of belonging.
