Through this program, seniors can visit nearly any of our over 300 retirement communities for up to seven nights at no additional charge. During the visit, residents will enjoy all the same service and amenities they enjoy at home while having the chance to meet new friends and experience new places.
We understand that each individual is unique and that needs may change over time. Holiday does not provide any health care services. However, residents are welcome to receive services from any outside home health care provider of their choice to help them continue enjoying life at our community.

The best way to get to know a community is by scheduling a tour. See the facilities, meet the staff and residents, and get a feel first hand what it's like to live at Holiday Walden Place Independent Living.

Walden Place is just independent living, and if you need assisted care you contract your own help. It's a wonderful community, it's very clean and very pleasant. My mom who didn't want to go at all loved it there. She said that the staff and the people were very warm and helpful. She loved the food and loved the activities. She likes to do the exercise every day after breakfast. They have a fun bean bag baseball, social things that she really likes and musical groups would come in. She really likes their library where she can go and read newspapers, they also have a salon where she can get her hair done. She's a catholic and they offer mass in their chapel once a month. So far it's been great.
Hi Jane, thank you so much for sharing this. We know that this is a tough transition, and are delighted that your mother is adjusting well and engaging in the many activities that we have to offer! Our goal is to have happy residents and family members, so your feedback is very important to us. Thank you!
My mother is a resident of Walden Place. She has a one-bedroom apartment that's very nice and has enough room for one person. They provide three meals a day, and for the meal selection you have the primary entree and a couple of alternative entrees to to choose from. There's also an alternate menu that's available for lunch or dinner, like a hamburger and fries or whatever. The meals seem to be very good, they are served hot, and nicely prepared. They provide a little housekeeping and they change her bedding twice a month. So she doesn't have to wash linens or towels, which is good. They also have efficiency and two-bedroom apartments, but the one-bedroom is all she needs because the efficiency is too small and is just like a studio. They have a library and they get three newspapers every day up there so people can read the local papers and New York Times. They also have a workout area, a beauty salon, and some organized exercise programs. They also do a few other activities each day. I think it's a very nice community.
Thank you so much for the stellar review. We are happy to hear that your mother is a resident at Walden Place, and that she is enjoying her experience here with us! Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, it is important to us.
Walden Place was excellent and closer to our price range. The amenities were excellent and everything was good about it. It offered everything that we were looking for. The staff who toured us around was excellent and gave us the information that will help us make a decision. They had an exercise room. The dining area was gorgeous.
My first impressions of Walden Place were good. My brother seems to be thriving there and making friends. When I stop in unannounced, I see the staff interacting with the people living there and being very good and very personable. I really like them. They keep the grounds up. The grocery store is within two blocks, and it's a block down from the large park. He's not so far away from his doctor. His studio apartment is very nice and has a little balcony where you can have a couple of chairs. People come in once a week to make sure things are clean, and they have on-site laundry facilities. The staff is good, but they no longer have anybody on-site at 7:00. They had alert necklaces but that was something they used to offer and don't anymore. My concern is they're pulling back services.
Hi there! Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review and providing us with some great feedback. We are glad to hear your brother is doing well at Walden Place. We did change our community model from live in managers. Unfortunately, having live in managers was not a sustainable way to manage our communities and there was high turnover because managers lived at work. We now have a member of management available from 7:30 am until 7:30 pm. All of our residents are provided a GreatCall device that allows them to reach emergency services 24/7 anywhere they have cell phone service. We have found this to be a better fit for residents and managers. If you have any further questions or concerns, please reach out. We are always happy to speak with you!
